For what it's worth, some of the old Indian dealerships (that still service Indians) have the modified pumps in stock.

Indian of Corona in Corona, California is one of those dealerships. If you have no luck in Illinois, you could have them UPS one out to you......

Be very careful with that one my friend, I purchased my scoot from them (corona) and told them I wanted the upgraded pump, I may have got an upgraded pump, But it was "NOT" a Blackhawk pump. If you order one from them make sure your wording is correct and ask specifically sp? for blackhawk.

Good luck & Happy hunting

Jag,

Dave at The Shop put mine in. During the install he called Frank and ordered more, don't know if he still has them, it wouldn't hurt to give him a call ask.

Hello Jag1046,

I'd have to say that you are doing the right thing to make it a priority to get a Blackhawk oil pump. Unfortunately, they appear to be out of stock. They used to send out the rebuilt pumps with a core charge added. After the swap, the buyers generally just returned the stock pump for the core charge credit. no waiting.

However, I say you should not let that stop you from riding your  chief. My 2003 vintage has 23,000 miles on the stock pump and it has not died yet. I bought it with 19000 on it. it still had the stock pump so I am continuing to ride. I will upgrade my oil pump at the first opportunity but that opportunity might be the full rebuild the way it looks now.

  Good luck and ride safe

Thanks for all the HELPFULL info!!!! I have to admit you guys have been worth twice the amount of admission!!! :Cheers[1]:  So beers on me in Galena next year!!!

I've pretty much deceided if I can't get my hands on one before this weekend... I'm just going to RIDE!!! I've spoken with the BIG 3 and they are of pretty much the same opinion..

So I think I'll finish up the season (I HOPE) and tear down in Oct. Nov.   Be a nice Christmas present to me and her (the Chief yet to be named)

MANY MANY THANKS TO ALL!!!

I Promise to be a pain in the ass from now on!!! :troll:
