Rode #0993 down to Philly this weekend for a Vic club function.  A great time was had by all.  Logged 766 miles total on the trip.  On the way back, I had  a "Chief sighting".  A Green and white Chief grabbin some petrol in Reading Pa. ... Near route 100 and ahhh geez, I'm not exactly sure exactly where the hell I was but it was near Reading Pa. if I recall correctly.  Beepin the horn, revvin the scoot, lookin for a wave from the tribesman...couldn't get the doods' attention.  Was it one one of you guys ??  If so....NICE LOOKIN BIKE Y'all got there.  Ride on, boyz.

That wasn't me but.......

I too was up in PA this weekend (Hershey) and on my way back I stopped at Battlefield Harley (Gettysburg) and there's just a sea of bikes.  Mostly Harleys and a few others (Honda, Suzuki's, etc..) but not one Indian.  Notta.

Continued South on the way home and I spot a bike a few car lengths ahead.  It's got big fendors.  Could it be?  Yes, a bike with skirts just like mine.... I pull closer.... closer.... DAMN!  It's a friggn Drifter.   :bomb:

I swear, I must have the only Indian in the Washington DC area.

Sumana-bitch.  Wish I was solo when I had the sighting.  Had my damn camera with me too, coulda gotten a shot, met the dood and turned him on to this  forum.   BUT, ....I was with a group, and they mighta beat me up...They were all Vicsters.....and as Paul Harvey would say..."you know the rest of the story".  Damnit, wish I could re-live it....right now.  It was a sweet lookin ride and I DONT THINK it was a Kawasaki.

One of the things that stuck out like a sore thumb in Pa was...every freakin bike ya ride by waves at ya. I like it.  They think I'm a 60's reject...which I am because I give them the "peace sign".  But what my peace sign really means is "V" for Victory.  Just one of them Vic things, ya know.  When I got back into NY, I stopped the bike, got on my hands and knees and kissed the freakin pavement.  Reason:  Our roads are motorcycle friendly.  I damn near got swallowed in some of them pot holes on the way down on that freakin stand-up comic act they call the Pa. Turn-Pike.  110 miles for 7 bux.  WTF ???  Keep it under 75 on that f#cker boyz and girls. Or better yet, be safe and avoid it altogether and cruise thru Amish country.  Now that is sweet.  Oh yeah.

Yeah I know BIG "D", it just funny that with all the bikes on the rode you just don't see many Indians.  (Not that I mind.)  We must be a scattered bunch.

We may cross paths at the Gettysburg bike week as I suspect I'll be going back to Hershey next weekend for the holiday (Which of course, takes me right through Gettysburg).

:rotfl:

That's too funny becuase I was just thinking that yesterday.  I got quite a few "Peace" uh, I mean, "Victory" signs.

I think we Indian riders need a sign of our own.  How about one big finger for "I".  We can pick the biggest one on our hand.  The middle one, yeah that's it.  Hmm, on second thought, that might not go over too well.  :SmackBottom:

Yep, I remember and I'm sure we'll cross paths seeing as how your up in Westminster and I like to go North.  And my offer to get you (and your crew) from Germantown to Harpers Ferry if you're ever looking for a West Virginia run still stands.  Many different backroads that can be taken.  Mike

next Wednesday the 6th kicks off Gettysburg bike week at Bay City in Hanover PA...big deck party...will ride by after work...The Pike is having a pig roast either Thursday or Friday, forget what night...plenty goiung on through Sunday...I, of course, will have to work that Saturday but am heading that way right after...

we are going to do a Harper's Ferry run in the near future...gotta get all the boys on the same page...

give me a holler and we can meet for a beer or a coke the next time you are up this way...first one on me...

I was heading home on Sunday.  Gettysburg is the halfway mark so I stopped to get gas, stretch my legs, ate a hot dog, checked out the vendor booths, and then headed South to Germantown on the back roads (via Hanover).

Now that summer is here I'll probably be heading up to Hershey quite a bit (sister-in-law lives there).  In fact, I'll be riding up that way again this Saturday or Sunday.  Haven't decided which day yet.  If you've never been there it's a nice place.  One of the few places I would like to move to.

Would be great to hook up and put a face to the screen name but no need to go out of your way.  My comment about not running into any othe Indians is no big deal.  I just chalk that up to not getting out enough.

Damn sure is, Vintage.  Its a big deal indeed.  You own a very unique motorcycle which has got to be a big part of the fun of riding a Chief.  Its part of the fun of riding Victory too.  Ya just don't see that many of them.  That is why we are here, we are our own men, off the beaten path with the nad to lead and not follow like many (but not all) of our HD brethren. Ride on.

Sometimes I get the urge to pull in behind a group of bikes, just to see where the hell they are going.  sometimes I do even, but only so long as they are going my way.

I'm a loner.  Don't care for riding in a pack.

don't mind following at a distance though.

Me'zzan Indian rider.
