Guest_ikonboard
This question will get you a bunch of differing answers on this board. I would suggest you go to the Indian Motorcycle International website and read the quarterly updates to get the official story and then come back here and read the outsiders opinions. And if you look around this site you will find L-O-T-S of opinions on what people think is / is not going to happen.

I have a bud that rides a Indian and he says that Indian is going to start production soon.Whats the deal ?Bob Panhead Bob, "Soon" is an indefined term, though a good guess is 6 -12 months out. For more info, you can get the news here: Indian Motorcycle Co. - News Page Basically, they are doing their due diligence and making sure they have their ducks in a row. Once they have that done, they'll start producing bikes again. - - KoalaCowboy

Wind Dancer
Not again! If you are serious about learning about the Indian bikes and the pros and cons of the PP100 and S&S motors then you need to do some more reading and less criticism at this point. If you have a panhead as your name suggests then you have no room to call an Indian a POS.I have a '51 pan in the garage and can tell you there are issues with it daily. Now if you are just here to stir up some shit then I'll step back and let you go right ahead! It could be HarleyRules all over again!Hey that reminds me,I am HarleysRuler! Fuckwad just doesn't cut it in our house, not when Fucktard and Fucksmack have been offered up earlier. The same goes for Asswipe, Fuckface and Dickweed. If you want to bang in the paint, I suggest you bring your "A" game, Cockknocker. BTW - Scottdog, you will always be a newbie fucktard to me. So dont start barking at me on this one, One thing for sure is that this new HD guy is no newer to this forum than HarleysRule was!

My Pan is almost 52 years old & my buds Indian is just a few years oldwith a few thousand miles. I think Indians are a good lookin Bike but for 20+k & 5k for a rebuild I'll stick with my Pan Congrats on owning the Pan.You can't be all bad! If your friend is spending 5K on a rebuild that sounds a little high to me,but maybe he's having some performance work included. In that case the price of the rebuild could be justified but he's not going to have to have it rebuilt every few thousand miles either.Go buy a late model Harley and have some mods done to it.See how much you end up investing in it.I've known a couple of people that had to have rebuilds on their Hardleys that were just a few years old.No guarantees on how long any motor will last.Yeah you can work on your bike on the side of the road but so can any one else with some working knowledge and a few tools. Your old bike hasn't given you much trouble and that's good for you.My '46 Chief runs like a top and doesn't give me any problems either. As for the Spirit and '02 Chief,I wouldn't call them a POS either.Oh yeah,I have been known to fix a bike beside the road so that doesn't make you any more of a wrench than me......and I'm a girl!
