In a pack of harleys

Recommended Posts

Sunday went for a beautiful ride up the coast to the town of Cambria. Went with six couples-all Harleys, of course. While riding, I'm in the middle of the pack and a car was passing the group, and suddenly slows down to scope out my Chief. they roll down their window, and several thumbs up and "nice ride" coming from them, and then they move on, not giving the rest of the Harleys a second look. when we get to Cambria, same thing happens. the crowd gathers round my scoot, and the others get ignored!

I love riding with Harleys.

Heres an interesting note regarding the Sea of Harleys.

Last nite was bike nite at the Lake of the Ozarks.  I had the only Indian.  There were about 75 metrics, and about 200 h.d.'s of various design.

The T3 was put in the "custom" class even though it is basically a stock bike.

I actually received more crowd participation votes than any bike at the event, whether they were in my class or not.  However, the award in my class was given to an old guy on a 2003 Duece, with about every bolt on HD item on the planet.  If you had a Factory parts list, you could identify every single piece on the bike.  No fabrication, all bolt on.

One guy asked how the HD could win, when the Indian had more actual votes than any bike there.  The reply, " the judges make the final decision on who wins."

I guess when the HD dealership sponsors the event you know who is going to win.

how can a bone stock Vengeance Black Widow beat my Chief in a show...the guest judge liked the Chief but her young punk boyfriend was chopper stricken...if 200 people stopped to look at the bikes, 185 of them stopped and complimented the Chief...go figure

Yup-no question, Harley is losing it's roots and becoming more elitist by the day. they hate competition, and that's why I'll be Indian forever. can't wait to open an Indian Dealership here in my town! We'll show em what's what!
