Guest_ikonboard
... is a pussy. Indy has never had a driver weight requirment. CONCORD, N.C. Robby Gordon says Danica Patrick will have an unfair advantage in today's Indianapolis 500 because she weighs only about 100 pounds. Gordon, a former open-wheel driver now in NASCAR, contends that Patrick is at an advantage over the rest of the competitors because her weight. Because all the cars weigh the same, Patrick's is lighter on the race track. Gordon says he won't race against Patrick until the Indy Racing League does something to take her advantage away. The Indy Racing League does not consider the driver's weight in its race specifications. The car has to weigh at least 15-hundred-and-25 pounds before the fuel and driver are added. Teams in Indy have estimated that Patrick will gain close to 1 mph in speed because of her small, light stature. What a bitch. Drivers weight vary widely, why did he wait until today to complaim? Cuz he is a bitch.

Surprised he's lasted as long as he has in NASCAR...Thought they would have booted his panzy ass a long time ago. - - KoalaCowboy

I saw the story, did some checking, and (from what you say) came to the appropriate conclusion. Guess it will be good for Indy since he says he won’t race until the girls aren’t allowed to play with the boys. Since that IS what he is saying. I find not record of him complaining over driver weight before. It’s not like Indy changed rules like the government forces other industries to do to allow women in. She is playing by the same rules everyone does.

LR, I have had a few jobs in years past (late 80's to early 90's) that afforded me the opporunity to meet a lot of drivers from Indy Racing League, Champ Car, Formula 1, NASCAR and Unlimited Hydroplane Racing. Of all the drivers I have met or worked for, Robby Gordon is definitely one that I would classify as a PRIMADONNA. He whines about nearly everything the the "comparison" he made between himself and Danica Patrick is, as you said...ridiculuous. - - KoalaCowboy

Rosie
After stalling the car in the pits, and knocking the front end off her car, she still led late in the race (First woman to ever lead the Indianapolis 500), and finished fourth. Not bad for a gurl.... Rosie

Big Daddy
Robby Gordon is the most underestimated driver in NASCAR...go to any local go cart track and they weigh in with the drivers...same as Nextel Cup...cars must weigh 3400 pounds with driver...he can go about it without whining/bitching but it does equal to roughly an 1 mph difference... fyi I was pulling for Danica today...she is hot I too have met Robby and he was great in person.. Then he should stick with go carts. If it is true that Indy has never considered driver weight then that is the rule of this game. Has a fat guy ever won Indy? Has a skinny guy lost? MeanGene
... and her 4th place finish was the best of an Indy rookie in 87 years. That is what they said on the TV news. How can you question them. If I remember correctly, when Graham Hill won, sometime around 69 or 70, he was considered a "rookie" even though he had raced F1 for many years- but had never run at Indy. At least back then, they considered anyone who hadn't run at The Brickyard a rookie- no matter who they were. Of course, at lot of today's reporters weren't born yet, so I guess they wouldn't remember. Probably never heard of guys like Clark, Gurney, Stewart, Hill, Scarfiotti, Surtees, Hulme, Revson, Ickx, or "Rufus", either.
injun46
It must have been 70, MG, cause Mario won in 69 in the high danger orange car. I was there, had free tickets, got drunk twice, never been back! Worst traffic jam afterward I've ever been in (never been to CA.)

TribalChief
If driver weight was THAT important to all the teams, then they would have horse jockeys sized guys driving the cars. Think about it- booster seats, extended steering wheels, whatever it took to save those precious 100 pounds. It's obviously not a big deal to anyone other than Lil Robbie.
