daddywarbucks
I wondered if anyone might have an idea of how many 92" S&S motors were built, and how many managed to be placed into an Indian. Thanks! joe

Canuck
S&S tells me they sold 3 over the counter to Indian dealers (I bought 2 of them). They wouldn't tell me how many they sold to Indian unassembled, but JP had a few - that's where FC sourced his. My best guess is less than 30 floating around. It was my understanding that there were a few in Gilroy that were auctioned off. A guy i know has a buddy that put a 92" in his 2000 Chief. A lot more power that the 88" so they say. Is that a different primary i see on the 92"? It looks like the HD dry clutch. Rick

The Sarasota Dealer offered me a 92", and I kept asking him if he had it in stock or was he going to order it. He wouldn't tell me. So I wondered if they were suddenly available. thanks joe
daddywarbucks
How many 92' s do ya think made it into a bike by the factory ? Thanks joe
Canuck
That pic is FC's 01 Scout with the 92 installed. He's using the stock primary cover. I have no idea how many factory-installed 92s are floating around - how many 04 Scouts and Spirits did they build?

I have no idea how many factory-installed 92s are floating around - how many 04 Scouts and Spirits did they build? From what I have been able to track/document. 10 spirits 7 scouts Only 3 I know for sure had 92" s in them with a 210 fat tire 1 red 1 yellow & 1 Blue The other 4 I cannot verify them for a 92" motor or fat tire 1 jet black,1 black, 1 blue with tan seat, and 1 cobalt blue All of these bikes vin out as 2004 correctly. The problem is the vin letter for the S&S motor does not verify weather it is a 92 or 88. There was a 2002 black scout ,a proto-type, that had a 92' in it. I wonder if someone at the factory might have a clue. who knows. I would definately appreciate any info. Thanks!!

daddywarbucks
there is a customer's charcoal gray 2004 spirit at my dealer with a 92" That's interesting. The Melvin list has 3 types of spirit 2004 black/metalic grey silver with "I" on S&S Grey/white I assume it's being repaired/maitenance, and not for sale ? Also, where is your dealer? thanks Joe

Shouldnt be too hard to find them , see how many McDonalds and Burger Kings are listed in the Bay area! that should cut down your travel time just a bit . They were all welcomed back to there former jobs with open arms!

Moon Killer
We are an S&S dealer & can't get that info from S&S, I have tried several times. S&S won't even sell those engines to their dealers unless your an Indian dealer. I can buy from S&S at dealer cost but still had to get mine through J&P at retail & put it togeather. It's like some big top secret thing.
