Most of the congresspeople, and the pres, had all gone to other places for their Easter Holiday. So they flew back to Washington to vote and sign. How much of our taxpayer money do you think went into first class round trip plane fare for them to fly back to Washington to vote, then fly back out on vacation again? Not counting what it cost to fly Air Force 1 back to DC from Texas just so Bush could sign the legislation? Estimates are close to half a million dollars. Someone tries to get something like this going again it will be "yesterdays news". Not worth the time since it won't get the press. First time is special, after that... whatever. That said... The government has the responsibility to protect this right. Her "Husband" suddenly "remembers" a conversation that he had with his wife 7 years after she had gone into her present condition. Three years after he started shacking up with another woman (who has two bastard children with him, BTW). So he gets a state judge to give him permission to starvehis wife because she is an inconvience to him. Sorry, I think the federal government is right in this case to allow this to be heard in Federal Court. (That is all the bill they passed did.) Rosie P.S. Like the new Smilies!!
