Recommended Posts

Surprised noone picked up on this yet...and I usually stay away from politics...

how about congress making legislation for that Schiavo chick in Fl...and the Pres getting up in the night to sign it??

Bad precedent!!.....So if I want to take a dump and my wife doesn't want me to she can blow enuff congressman and they can write some legislation and stop me from my natural order of things??? it'll never stop now...

oh...and i'm not married, so maybe it doesn't matter...just stirring up shit....

Homer, there's even a bigger consideration here.

Most of the congresspeople, and the pres, had all gone to other places for their Easter Holiday.

So they flew back to Washington to vote and sign.

How much of our taxpayer money do you think went into first class round trip plane fare for them to fly back to Washington to vote, then fly back out on vacation again? Not counting what it cost to fly Air Force 1 back to DC from Texas just so Bush could sign the legislation?

Estimates are close to half a million dollars.

It won't happen again.  Politicians can get all worked up for something like this once, they use it for whatever political capital they can. Someone tries to get something like this going again it will be "yesterdays news". Not worth the time since it won't get the press. First time is special, after that... whatever.

That said... I really don't understand what is so hard about the parents assuming responsibility for there daughter. He should just walk away.

I think the parents should walk away...didn't the dad walk down the aisle and give the daughter to him?...unless they lived in W. Virginny, I would think the husband slept with her more than the dad and was more privvy to her thoughts and wishes at the time she was injured... just my .01.5

I just wonder why this one made the news? This happens all the time. Why this case  :uhoh:

:Feet-Up[1]:

It's also neat to see the Republicans keep going back to court until they get the answer they want. Now don't they bitch about how the Left "shops" the courts? Lead by example

Yes, I am waiting to see how the republicans, who always bitch about the dems doing this, yet here we go, republican style.

friggin republocrats. :Spanish:

Thats some bullshit, a buddy gets blown up in Iraq , goes to Germany to have surgery so he can have his leg amputated , and yet this guy is alive , he breathes on his own , he talks and is alert , congress wont pay to send his wife and kids to Germany to see him !

But a fucking vegetable soup and they go nuts over that! This chick told her husband if I ever I (or him) were to become vegetables , pull the fuckin plug , please! "I dont want my family and friends to remember me as a friggin mongaloid , I want them to remember me the way I was"

Mom and Dad , pull the Goddamn plug , shit!

It is the federal government's responsibility to protect the rights of the people. Terri Shaivo's right to Life is being taken away. The government has the responsibility to protect this right.

Her "Husband" suddenly "remembers" a conversation that he had with his wife 7 years after she had gone into her present condition. Three years after he started shacking up with another woman (who has two bastard children with him, BTW).

So he gets a state judge to give him permission to starvehis wife because she is an inconvience to him.

Sorry, I think the federal government is right in this case to allow this to be heard in Federal Court. (That is all the bill they passed did.)

P.S. Like the new Smilies!!
