1BIGDogg
Senate votes to repeal helmet law; House next? March 17, 2005 - 4:05PM LANSING (AP) - The state Senate has passed a bill allowing motorcyclists 21 and over to hit the streets without a helmet. Senators in the past have refused to the change the law. Some riders say they deserve a right to choose whether to wear helmets. They argue that helmets don't prevent accidents and that every state surrounding Michigan gives riders the option to not wear the head gear. Opponents say the public should be protected from the financial risks of going without helmets. Under the requirements, motorcyclists have to be licensed for at least two years or have finished safety course training. The bill now goes to the House. spiritquest
The house passed it last year and the senate sat on it, did not vote on it. Lets see what games they come up with this year. I think dare I say our Woman Gov. Granholm will not sign if it passes both houses. We Have been fighting for this for over thirty years. :veryangry:

Maybe someone should give the Gov a ride on the back of a Chief she would sign it.
