pablo94
Well the only sporting event I truly enjoy watching starts this weekend. Who is picking who. Couldn't bring myself to follow the pundits. I have Kansas (of course, my alma mater), Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, and Syracuse. Bets, picks, thoughts????

pablo94
You heard it here first, the Illini are going down. The Big Ten is weak as an overall conference. Georgia Tech will take them out in the elite 8.
TallRider
My big dilema is do I use vacation days to watch the tourney (took last Friday off to watch the Big Ten and ACC tourney) or do I sneak in my little Casio hand-held color TV.
TallRider
Rumor has it the Illini mascot will ride in on an Indian Chief before tip-off of their Faileigh Dickenson game. No wait . . . he's being towed in on an Indian Chief.
pablo94
My big dilema is do I use vacation days to watch the tourney (took last Friday off to watch the Big Ten and ACC tourney) or do I sneak in my little Casio hand-held color TV. I always take in a radio. The games are usually all over the am dial. Then up to the minute coverage on ESPN and CBSSports keeps me going. I'm luck my first game for Kansas is a 6:40 pm tip pacific time, thus I will be home in time for that one. Hopefully, the CBS bastards show it and don't cut away too much. TallRider
I'll be pulling for Minnesota, although unfortunately if they get past their first game they are in the same bracket as North Carolina - who is bound to show up really pissed! Then my adopted team of Duke, who continues to seem to hang on by the skin of their teeth. And finally, U of Washington, although I don't know what the committee was smoking when they seeded the Huskies #1 in the Albuquerque Regional. pablo94
Final Four Duke,Illinois, Texas Tech ,Conneticutt! And UCONN Takes the title! Remember St.Joe's last year ? Think Illinois same situation!! I almost took Texas Tech another game, but Bobby can't seem to get more than two games in for several years. Okay at tech, but un acceptable in Indiana. As much as he is a dick, I like his love of the game.

Can't win the big one. In Kansas we call it the, "Pulling the Roy." He reminds of Ted Owens in the sixties and seventies. Real fans love him, but I will love it when he is blubbering in front of the media, " I love this Carolina team and we had a great season, and, and I love Kansas and their tradition and I loved coaching those seniors in their first two years." As far as Duke, fuck Duke. The Huskies deserved the 1 seed. This was a plus for the Ilini and allowed them to have home advantage. It also silences the fans when it comes to the Big East and the ACC and the whole East Coast bias toward b-ball. Let in a west coast team in a west coast bracket works for me, Plus, they have been playing great ball lately, but like the Big Ten the Pac 10 is weak this year. The only Pac 10 team that can make a run is Arizona. Stoudimiere and Lute Olsen is a dangerous combination. Olsen is a great tournament coach. He has proved it time and time again, but his competion in the Pac 10 always hurts him in the tough games due to lack of experience. P
Guest_ikonboard
I wouldnt count Washington out of it, they very well could be in it , there division in the tourney is weak! I give an edge to Bobby Knight , because he's an asshole , you need to be an asshole to coach in Division 1 , plus he's been there 3 times! Pinto
Just like everyone else. No one thinks Illinois will win. Lets see, they are 32 and 1 And they pretty much did 31 with not to much trouble. This is what is going to happen. All the Illini games, they will win by blowouts. And the championship game will be the biggest blowout in the history of the NCAA tournament. pablo94
Down goes North Carolina. Its Oakland U in the biggest upset in the NCAA history! I don't know about that, but he has been known to choke early. UTEP in 94 comes to mind right off the bat. He better be ready for Iowa St. If he gets the gophers I think he has less worries, but Iowa St. can be dangerous if they are on there game. I'll say it again, Illini go down to Okie St. in the Elite 8. Early wins against Wake and Gonzaga, otherwise a weak non conference schedule will hurt them. Remember a 33-2 team from UNLV in 91 with a similiar schedule. Lost to Duke in the final four. Kansas beats Carolina with Roy in his second year. Dukes takes Kansas out in the championship game. Great final four. I was there in Indianapolis.
