MJ is a freak but we will never know what really happened no matter what verdict is reached. The family involved is to corrupt themselves. Look at all the crap the mother has been pulling for all these years. Why were the kids allowed to go back there AFTER they had contacted lawyers? Too fishy. I wish there were other families coming forward with similar charges, families with solid backgrounds. If he was a pedophile there would be more kids. He had access to many kids. Why this one? Seldom is there a pedophile that has access to children at this level with only one or two victims. We will never know the truth in this case. Sure he may be a freak, but you should not base your judgment on that alone. I remember a few threads on here complaining about restaurants and bars not wanting “Bikers”. I doubt it. second, this trial is not a civil case, it's a criminal case..not about extorting money from Michael, it's about punishing him because he'a a freaky pervert...I just wish it wasn't happening in my town because this circus is screwing up downtown which is where I have to pick up my kids after school. the last kid that testified admitted to lying about wheteher his dad beat him or not, but that doesn't make him a liar about MJ. What does the kid stand to gain by testifying at this point...again, this is not a civil suit, it's a criminal suit. Face it, all the fame and fortune turned MJ into a complete lunatic. You don't know much about this case. For one, how about the money the mother raised to pay medical bills when the child’s bills were covered 100% by the fathers insurance? Why were the children still going to MJ’s AFTER the mother had been contacting lawyers? If you thought a friend was a pedophile, to the point of you contacting a lawyer, would you still leave your children with that person, for several months? First off, many people, guilty or innocent, settle rather then go through a case. There are many reasons for this. Second, you are correct, this is a criminal case. If found guilty there is no civil case because the bar is so much lower in a civil case; Preponderance of the evidence verse reasonable doubt. A civil case would be filed but it is only a formality and to work out a number $$$. There are different rules in a criminal case verse a civil case. These rules may compel someone to choose one over the other. Like the Kobe case. She was relying on criminal court rules that would keep many things about her from entering the case. As soon as the judge said these items would be allowed in she left the case and the case folded. She went to civil court and Kobe settled not because he was guilty but because it was cheaper on many levels. The first case against MJ settled out of court. Why? Why would they do that? After all, winning a criminal case would ensure they win a civil case. Civil case would be open and shut the day the guilty verdict in a criminal case came down. Why would you allow the bastard that did that to your kid off, just to collect money? Why settle a criminal case like this? Again, we will never know the truth.
