Vagabondjpm
Spyke Firstryke I just spoke to MC Advantage and was told they would be released in a couple of weeks. They would seem to be a perfect cure for us. It is my they use the “Ford Triton” spark plugs due to their length and they boost HP (I don’t truly believe that though. A spark is a spark is a spark.) So, your thoughts? At $299.99 I’ve VERY tempted. Ride safe

Ride safe I was really Thinkin about gettin these...But if you've got a Good Starter (I switched to a Tech Tornado...Compact)...A good battery with at least 300cca's...Mine is now a 350...It will spin that Starter effortlessley...I now have no hesitation on need a bump to start it...When cold...1-2 squirts of the throttle...Choke in the open position...Its just Click and she spins the starter right over...I'm talkin of temps below 40 degrees...The Battery is on a Tender...I've been ridin right thru the Winter so far ...If I can get temps of at least 40's...Its been in the 50's near 60 for about a week ...but temps in the 20's after sundown...After makin these improvements and thinkin about it...I changed my mind... Just my $.02 !!! Junior!!

Brock
I have thought about getting compression releases installed...especially for those gas stops where the engine is only off a little bit and there is a lot of pressure still built up...if these work and the plugs are able to get fire down in there properly it might be okay. I dont know how much it would cost to get the heads tapped for some real compression releases...but I would lean toward them until there is more info and on the street testing of these things. junior
What happens when they fowl? I gues you gotta buy a new set.jim I talked to a Sales Rep at MC ...and he said you can just replace the Plugs...They are Ford Motorsport or Ford Tuck Plugs...Not sure what Model...But they are a longer plug...which will go deeper into the Cylinder Head...For this system to work correctly... Brock... Campbell a Cheef Owner on here had motorwork done on his Cheef and had the CR Valves installed in the Heads...I don't remember where the Post was...Probably in the PP Section...But I do remember reading he wasn't that impressed with them...He stated his reasons why... I remember seein a set of those CR Valves on Ebay and they went off for $35...I don't know what it would cost to have them installed...I'm sure Campbell would know... Junior!! firebird77clone
It looked like about two hours in the machine shop. = $160 Plus a couple hours with the wrench = $
campbell
Junior: I did install the compression releases, and my first take was that they didn't do much since they popped back out on the first compression stroke. Since I've been messing around alot with jets and stuff the last couple of week, I've had plenty of opportunities to start the bike, hot and cold, with and without the releases. They do take some load out of the initial starter bump. I was talking to Joe Malfa last weekend about them and we were thinking that we might get rid of the 2 RPM delay in the ignition module, and the bike should start right away and the releases shouldn't pop out until the motor starts, like they are supposed to. I haven't tried this yet, but am going to. So the jury is still out on the releases. The biggest problem for the PP-100 heads is where to put the releases--there isn't a lot of room for them in the heads. So the FirstStryke releases might be a good alternative. I need to do a little more experimenting. campbell
