Falcon
Ranch Foreman wanted. Fallbrook area in Northern San Diego County, just east of I-15 on Route 76. Awesomely beautiful, 600 acre ranch on Pala Rey River. 40 acres of oranges, 10 acres of avocados, 80 head of cattle, six horses. Ranch grows summer row crops (tomatoes, corn, watermelon, peppers, squash, etc.) which are sold in it's road-side produce stand, along with its own oranges and avocados -- which is very much like a charming farmer's market. Fruit stand is high volume, with 10 seasonal employees, and significant sales. Foreman will oversee full-time crew of 4, and summer seasonal crew of around 12. MUST be bi-lingual (Spanish). Should have prior experience as a foreman, particularly overseeing growing of highest quality row crops. Familiarity with fruit stand/farmer's market operations a big plus. Should have knowledge and interest in land use, permitting, and operational compliance issues. Should present well as spokesperson for ranch on such issues, including assuming appointed position on the local water board as owner's representative. Owner is absentee, living in Los Angeles, but has great love of this ranch. Owner's family has owned and run the ranch since 1940. Benefits: $35,000 annual salary. Beautiful family house to live in with lovely view. Health care for full family. Truck to drive. Participation in profits from operations. Immediate opening. Do not mind if someone is relocating, and will pay relocation expenses. Please email resume and introduction to PalaReyRanch@msn.com (email pictures of applicant also accepted), or if email is not an option, fax to 310-476-2552. If appropriate, owner will respond with email pictures of ranch and more detailed description of opportunity. No calls please.
