How many pp100 without upgrades

Just wondering how bikes are out there with no problems at all

 

I have a 02 chief with no problems, ( knock on Wood ) and never did any of the upgrades mentioned on the fourm , but have done performace stuff like Pipes carb work and timing.

 

Bike runs Great and like I said no problems, and what changes would you do if you never had a problem,

Some will be okay. Although the oil pump upgrade should be done. Asking for trouble if you don't. How many miles? Hope you get a lot more trouble free.

03 PP100 - sticker on down tube states it was built in June of 03.

7000 miles, no probs. have not changed the oil pump.

Performance baffles, with rejet, and warbonnet aircleaner. Mike (Steranko) recently installed a 34T pulley,  runs real nice.

Birch, since it's been a while since any photos of your gorgeous chief have been posted 'round here, and some of the newbies might not be aware of just which Chief you are riding, here's a photo....along with two very handsome Chief riders, one of whom has excellent taste in shirts!

no problems yet...have different pipes, war bonnet, single fire...just contacted Posie about dropping off in a few weeks for oil pump, cam, different exhaust...1900 miles

So far so good. Have 2002 with 8500 miles. Added V&H Longshots, Air cleaner, and I did get the oil pump from Blackhawk.

 

Oil pump was replaced under warranty before i had any problems with it. Any one else been able to do that, just curious.

 

I have been having probs with the shifter sticking anyone have that prob. Shift down and it shifts down but the shift lever sticks down and i have to pull it up with my toe. Then I can shift down again, but then I have to pull up the lever agian with my toe.I've clean the linkage real good still happens. Shifter pawl maybe. Appreiciate any comments.

The problems seem to happen right away or around 15,000 miles.

 

I ride with a guy who has not done a thing to his 2002 and he has over 30,000 miles on it.

You nailed it with the 15K mileage!!

I hate to be a doomsayer--but I'm a believer.

Get ready for a rebuild around 15, to 20K.

Stu--you pegged it when you said riding style, and maintenance isn't going to matter.

Problems are there, and you have to be one lucky ducky to miss their visit!!

So the count is three so far and at least one has less than 2k.

From the title of the thread I figgered this was gonna be a pretty short story.

 

FWIW, I'm so friggin upgraded that I'm in the middle of upgrading my upgrades.

2002  with 13K and change on it.  PP #145 (yea I know the numbering scheme didnt mean much..)

 

No real trouble so far.  Replaced a few things.. starter etc..  A few performance upgrades, some cosmetic stuff, but I havent had to tear it down due to major mechanical failure....  I will be doing the oil pump next couple of weeks..

 

Have a 5 year warranty, but never had to use it..

 

Seems like I spend more time working on an old Shovel (69) I have than the Chief..

Late 03 Chief that came with the upgraded oil pump.  about 14K on her, no problems.

03 roadmaster, blackhawk pump, custom baffle, Custom made high flow  s.s. intake, ultimate curve, 8000 trouble free miles and counting (i'll start counting again when the snow melts). Problems, I have no stinkin problems. :rasp:

That is one of the nicest PP Chiefs I've seen.  Lots of chrome and no a lot of crap added to it.  I'm sure it even looks better with the saddlebags.  The pipes also look really nice.

Wait till I get some pictures of it now. His bike is one of the nicest bikes on the road and it gets ridden everywhere.

OK, I have an 03 Chief Springfield with about 3000 miles.  Virtually all of the miles in the last 6 months.  Said it was manufactured in July of 2002 on the forks.  Is this the problem child for the pp100?  What should I do right now even though it runs well.  

 

Lots of Chillowee leather add ons.  Put the crash bars from the Indian web site on tonight.  Considering the suicide shifter but will hold off for a while if ever.

 

Oh yeah, of course I got rid of that ugly ass Calif. emmissions box.

got any pictures of the Chilhowee stuff...just ordered a bunch of their stuff for my Chief..

'03 Roadmaster just over 2K...upgraded oil pump, vintage air cleaner.  Just switched to singlefire TH and it really smoothed out the PP vibes.  No other problems

July '03 Chief Deluxe, 6,200 miles... so far only the following has been touch on the Powder Puff;

Still running strong.!
