335
We all know that winter is on its way, and it wont be long before we burry the bikes in the garage for the winter. On October 18th, there is a swap meet in Brooklyn, CT. which is located in the north east corner of the state. Local to Mass, RI, and not far from Maine and NH! It is a two hour ride for me, and probably 2 hours for just about most of you guys. It would be nice to have a get together to get to know all the riders before the winter sets in and it will give us something to talk about for the winter. I would like to get some input, on this and what you guys would think about it. And if you are interested don't be afraid to let anyone else you know with an indian know. I will keep you more informed with dates, times and details. It would be nice to have a good get together and we will plan for a rain date also. Pop
That'll be at the fairgrounds just off of Rt 6. It's run by a guy I used to know, but we wuz young bucks and our antlers wuz too big. Mebbe we're old enuff to keep a civil tongue with each other...mebbe not. Anyway, he's an antique HD guy and there's always some cool old iron at those meets. That's my old stomping ground and I still ride quite a bit with a partner from Dayville, so I'm down there two or three times a month. Lots of farm country. Nice wide open roads. There's actually some wikid gutsy cowpaths but you got to hunt for them. For diversions there's the Bach Dor right down 6 in Chaplin about 15 minutes ( or ten minutes if you are inclined to twist) which does a beef and pigger most Sundays and usually draws in a coupla hundred scoots, but it's old school, which I am likewise. On the other hand, the fairgrounds in Brooklyn sits at the Rt 6 and Rt 169 intersection. 169 rolls up into Pomfret and makes it's way to a little joint that has become a Sunday morning ride destination for the Brunchie set. Started out as a cafe racing cafe but all brands and types do the coffee thang there these days. I've got a bedridden pal that I go visit with a couple of other bros on Sundays and one of them is in the Antique MC Club with Ashwell. I'll get the news when I hook up with him tomorrow and I'll post what he tells me.

I think we discussed Sunday the 17th on the phone.. Wethersfield Riders located in central Connecticut. Brooklyn about an hour ride from here. If anyone else wants a meet point for the ride, let me know on the board or saintjsp1@cox.net We are confirming dates, times and meet points. We will let everyone know shortly. No .. We don't all put them up for the winter.. We get that new front wheel ski attachment from J&P and do the snowmobile trail rides. Beats riding along the beach roads anyday !!! Ithought I,d use the bac dor for a rain date ,we,ll end up there anyway! I'm tempted but the likelihood is I'll stay there Saturday night and if I bomb, I'll be lucky to afford gas home. Of course, on the other hand, maybe the cards will be kind and I'll buy me another toy at the swap.

saintjsp1
Noon sounds good. You mentioned meeting on Rt 66 ...If that's the plan, we can meet at the Dunkin Donuts on Rt 66 in Portland. It's right over the Aragoni Bridge between Middletown and Portland. Over the bridge and the DD is on the left hand side as you go around the turn.. We can pick up RT 66 there and ride it into Rt 6 .. then to the show.. If that's good with you I'll spread the word.....
