I don't know, Polaris is very secretive (in public media) regarding future direction of Indian. I'm not sure if Steve Menneto has truly changed his mind regarding electric Indian motorcycles (in the North American market, at least) or if he and Reid Wilson are feeding a bunch of bull hockey to the general public.

Hard to say. I'd love to see Indian compete against Zero, Johammer, Future Tech & H-D LiveWire. Yet, most of those motorcycles have a European imprint.

We defeated ISIS, our job is done, they're coming home. Well then, let's get rid of airport TSA. But, we still need to spend $5B dollars for a wall between Mexico & USA. Let's face it, our real threat are those coming in from Mexico - why? How's the stock market doing for you? The Fed did the right thing - if Trump hadn't opened his pie hole stating he thinks raising the interest rate was a bad thing, we might be making some progress; instead, we're heading for a recession? President Donal Trump (Doctor Who), the Fear Monger.

I'm going to shut down the Federal Government unless you give me my wall! Mommy - I want my wall damn it. No fucking pudding for you!

IMO, I believe we (our nation) need to increase the amount of money we spend on our infrastructure. We have been spending ~2.4% of our GDP on infrastructure the past 30 years (~$416 Billion/year). This is far too little to sufficiently maintain & build infrastructure in the U.S.A. As a business person, why haven't we heard The Donald discuss our failing infrastructure and the need to increase spending in this one area which desperately needs attention. We're falling way behind in this area & It's time to shore-up our infrastructure.

This President has never had the interests of the American people in mind. Donald Trump is a chauvinistic, gloating, egotistical, self-righteous 'TYRANT' with only his own interests in mind. He leads by fear, intimidation & threat. He lacks self-confidence & he lacks his own party's support. There currently exists and there will always exist only the interests of Donald Trump. Donald Trump was elected by the people to represent the country; instead, he has (IMO) absolutely no agenda WHATSOEVER of representing ANYONE other than DONALD TRUMP.

Well Vintage, I do not agree . I think Mr. Trump is doing a great job. You need to step back and look at the big picture.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and beliefs, but facts are facts.

The ugliness is perpetuated by the DNC. I do not believe the President is anything but honest.

Best President sine Ronald .

Doc, disagreements are what fuel debate. No issues if someone doesn't agree with me, I don't expect to agree with others & I don't expect others to agree with me. Everyone/Anyone is entitled to their opinion. Have a great day, Doc.

Shutting down the United States federal government (holding federal employees hostage), in order to get funding for his border wall, doesn't appear to be working for Donald. Instead, he's going to 'trump up' an artificial (fake) National Emergency.

So I usually try to stay out of politics here... it Im diving in.. I think there is a crisis... Illegal aliens do kill American citizens... drugs come through the border seemlessly, we spend far more to support the illegals than it would cost to build the wall or they contribute... those coming in the right way have to wait behind those not...

CNN decided not to run a story about the wall in San Diego because those there, including border agents stated it worked. Jim Acosta showed it was working in Texas where there is a wall...

Schumer, Pelosi, Clinton and Obama all thought it was necessary a few years ago. So, what has changed...

Heres what changed... Trump, who will never be president take that to the bank, is president. They will do anything to make him him unsuccessful, even if it affects all Americans negatively...

That's correct. And, the 90% of those drugs come through the southern border at DESIGNATED BORDER PATROL CROSSINGS. The percentage is even higher when you consider shipping containers both on sea and in the air. Approximately 5% of all illegal contraband enters the United States through underground tunnels UNDER currently built walls. Individuals DO NOT carry pounds of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, and marijuana. Illegal contraband entering the United States enters via vehicles and shipping containers - disguised and packaged alongside (mostly) legal merchandise.

I believe the total cost is roughly $135 Billion. Actually, the cost is ~$116 Billion, since illegal immigrants pay ~$19 Billion in federal, state & local taxes. Still, it's a lot of money.

There exists an enormous conundrum in the United States' employment policies & laws regarding illegal immigrants. U.S. immigration and taxation laws are completely misaligned. Building a wall will not align broken down misaligned immigration and taxation laws.

VC,

Could you provide your source on the designated crossings and tunnels?

Also would you agree that if Border Patrol, ICE, DEA and other law enforcement agencies had a physical deterrent throughout the border they would be able to focus resources on the "designated crossings " where 90% of the drugs enter?

"...would you agree that if Border Patrol, ICE, DEA and other law enforcement agencies had a physical deterrent throughout the border they would be able to focus resources on the "designated crossings " where 90% of the drugs enter?"

Pirate, not necessarily. I am of the opinion drug mules aren't the 'issue' with illegal contraband entering the United States 'between' legal Ports Of Entry. Each of the state & federal agencies, including private institutions (i.e. Brookings Institution) demonstrate the focus isn't between the Port Of Entries, but the POE themselves.

Additionally, I'm not saying all of the statistical data is perfectly aligned. That is to say, much of the data comes from the amount confiscated between POE points and at POE points. That data doesn't actually describe the TOTAL amount (in weight) which enters the United States, but in reality only demonstrates the amounts confiscated between and at POE points. Yet, we can certainly (well within reason) extrapolate those numbers to provide a basis for how much of a total might actually move across the border into the United States.

I am more inclined to believe our best interests would be served by increasing enforcement at known POE points with advanced technology and lengthy registration requirements for vehicles entering the United States. I've crossed International borders many times in my travels both overseas and within North America and South America. Our POE points are by far, IMO, far too easy to navigate. Which, IMO, provides easy access for the importation of illegal merchandise, which of course, would include illegal drugs.
