Maldev
Kind of...if you check out the new Superbowl commercial for the show I work on, you'll notice a familiar motorcycle in the shoot. Not sure completely why they had to remove the tank badges but we all know what that bike is. https://youtu.be/6e_MMVmmFfA

Mikehell
I have a TiVo. They have a feature that will automatically skip commercials from a recorded show. They just released a new update to it that will let you skip the game and just watch the commercials. I'll have to try it out to catch this commercial.

Harleynot
And your role on the Voice is? Hmmmmmmm.... He erased or pixelated the nipples ... I mean Indian Motorcycle badge off the tank so we didn't offend any HD sponsors. I " heard" there was another Indian Motorcycle in a Mass Mutual commercial touting Harley Davidson riders
Tahoe Chief
First time I ever watched a super bowl. Still don't get it ( Football ) even though my buddy tried to explain stuff to me. You guys need hobbies. I went because he bought a table at silver legacy casino, and it was a party atmosphere.

Ya know, with all the hundreds of millions of dollars the NFL has, they could just buy each one of those guys their very own ball. Then they wouldn't have to fight over it. Right? Maldev
So, did you have any influence on this, or is it just coincidence? I had some influence. I'm the Supervising Editor on the show and have been here since the beginning. I've been trying to get an Indian on the show since season 1. Years ago (before I got on this forum) I turned on TV just in time to hear your name called and watch you go up to be recognized by your peers. just sayn. geewago
The Indian in the SB commercial didn't have a war bonnet decal or an Indian logo on the tank for anyone to see. Therefore since it was a big black beautiful bike just setting there 90% of America said "Oh look at that pretty Harley". All black bikes are Harleys, right ?

My 'guess' is this - if there are no copyright/trademark 'symbols', they probably aren't liable for any infringements; and, they probably owe no monetary remuneration to PII Indian Motorcycle for using the motorcycle. In fact, the motorcycle may not even be owned by PII, it may not even be owned by The Voice, or the owners of the production company which created The Voice commercial; the motorcycle may just in fact be 'personal property' (owned by a member who was in the commercial, a prop person, a gaffer, a production assistant, etc.). Whatever the case, PII Indian Motorcycle was behind the eight-ball on grabbing some good advertising (of course, that would only apply to audiences who actually 'watched' the Super Bowl - a paltry 103.4 million). Maldev
Nope. Usually when you see a logo on a car or motorcycle greeked out in a show or commercial it usually means that neither the production company nor the broadcast network received sponsorship money from the brand's company to place their product. The network wouldn't pay Polaris to use their bike: it would be the other way around. Basically, the network would see the inclusion of the recognizable logo on the biket as giving free advertisement to the Indian brand. Having Adam Levine sitting on the bike further suggests a possible relationship bewteen Adam and Indian and since he isn't getting paid to sell or ride Indians, the logo would be greeked out for that. Adam owns several HDs and custom motorcycles as well as cars. In short, production wanted a motorcycle in the commercial, the livery on the Universal lot provided the production company with several options to choose from and the Darkhorse was chosen. The logo was also greeked out in the event that NBC runs a paid for commercial following this commercial for a competing motorcycle company. Again, unless Polaris paid for the product placement, the network isn't going to put their logo in anything. It's a very strange world when it comes to this stuff.

WTF Hasbin must be slackin keeping your ass in check Ha! Good catch. I've been tying Chieftain for so long I missed that, I corrected that for the record. Also, I assume the Darkhorse was chosen was specifically for the paint job. With all the compositing going into that commercial, the less reflections, then better.
