Glacier National Park Then To Sturgis

Recommended Posts

Leaving in the morning, plan on making it into Sturgis on Monday the 3rd. I'll be staying till Friday AM. In the mean time, i'll be riding through N.Dak, Montana and Wyoming, I really don't like direct routes as you know already. Hope to see some of you out there.

I plan on meeting some of you out there...hope to put some faces to names. I'm staying at the Buffalo Chip and hear its crazy...something I've wanted to do!

Ride safe!

They have applied to be a city on it's own. A lot has changed since i was there in 90. Was pretty wild then, and heard it's REALLY wild now.

Are you riding the Going to the Sun Road? The west side is a nice ride... the east is an ok+ ride. Beautiful scenery up that way.

I rode to the west side from Browning...when I entered the park I was told about too many vehicles for the roads and that I would be in traffic all day overheating. So, I left the park and ended up taking a front seat ride on a 1 hour helicopter tour over the the glaciers! Awesome to say the least.

I got back last week, just taking time to acclimate and 'wind up' to this reality. Tons of pics and videos, made new friendships out thar and look forward to hitting the road again....sooner than later. This country is truly spectacular! and the people are awesome

I saw this on Route 1. Camp Atchison marker in North Dakota...Sibley camped here while chasing the Sioux Indians in 1863

I stayed at East Bay Camp on Devil's Lake. I'd like to go back and fish there someday.

Devils Lake is currently a walleye factory, with East Bay Being one of the more productive areas. But the entire lake produces.

And fuck, you were right in my backyard, although I may have been on Sturgis when you were in Nodak.

Did you stop at Indian of Fargo?

After Devil's Lake I headed for Fort Peck, I had reservations to camp at downstream. I never made it due to heavy winds, I held over in Stanley, ND. Next morning I headed to my next camp destination, I was about 200 miles behind schedule but I made it up and got to Browning, MT by nightfall. I slept in a Teepee that night, woke up to 40 degree temps.

I see, and nice!! No pun intended on "reservation" I assume. I know some really good looking women in Stanley (sisters).

Glad you enjoyed Nodak!

Wish we could have crossed paths Brother! Next time.
