firebird77clone
By now, everyone should have heard about the Texas shootout between five motorcycle clubs. The beginning of the end for the criminal M/Cs? Homeland security going to get involved? New legislation? Politicians never let a crisis go to waste. The liberals will be screaming for more legislation.

dk007
Funny.....according to the news, "Five gangs had gathered at the restaurant as part of a meeting to settle differences over turf and recruitment". Well, sounds like it was pretty productive to me. Edited May 19, 2015 by dk007
KenB
Police & SWAT were there beforehand. Police wanted something from the restaurant owner.. Maybe bugs or plain clothes cops in there, but the owner refused. Could have been provocation from either side. I think there's a lot we aren't being told.
Satdiver
Just wondering, anyone ever had issues with LEO or MC's about wearing a IIRA patch?
Reinie
It's just another black-eye for the rest of us (99%). Law enforcement has already had motorcycle-only pull-overs and inspections which has been fought by the AMA. This shoot-up will only bring more discriminatory action from both law makers and LEOs. Every time the one per centers make the headlines it tilts public opinion against motorcyclists. Outright motorcycle bans already exist in some communities and this will just mean more of it.
Scalper38
Just wondering, anyone ever had issues with LEO or MC's about wearing a IIRA patch? Some on here have had issues with MC's in their area but I haven't heard of any LEO issues with the IIRA patch. Personally, I haven't. firebird77clone
from the research ive done so far, it extends from a basic turf war between the bandidos and the cossacs. the cossacs have chosen to run a lower rocker denoting territory (texas). also, the cossacs showed up with their support group, the vaqueros. its tough getting the meat and potatoes of it, as it was three days before the news would even release the names of the clubs. dk007
Reading reports this morning, it sounds like the only ones doing any shooting were the police......all of the nine dead people (and all others wounded by gunfire) were shot by police. The fighting spread to the parking lot where the police were prepositioned and once they saw a weapon, that was their cue to open up. I'm not standing up for the gangs but it sounds like there's more to the story than gang members fighting each other with the police just stepping in to stop it.

quigley3
I heard that the second gang in town was upset by all the damage to their bikes caused by parts falling off the first gangs bikes.... The police approached the restaurant about cooperation and were rebuffed. However the local HD dealership had no problem closing for a couple days to "keep motorcycles off the street". Seems to me it would have been a sales and service bonanza after all the impounds (especially those held for evidence). Waco might just break even on police costs after this.... There is more to this story than what we hear. I guess the movie "Wag the Dog" has colored my thinking after so many real life applications. Was this was staged by a certain former first lady to get her scandals off the front page? Or show the purported value/necessity of Jade Helm? Do we really need to worry about black helicopters with the advent of mini drones anymore?
CHIEF DOC 99
It was a publicly scheduled monthly meeting of all the Clubs of Waco. 'Police' set and executed a preplanned ambush plain & simple. Seems Democrats in power love to slaughter folks in Waco. Then they spin the facts to suit their agenda. It's becoming a tradition. Government harassment in the extreme. Damn, That is a good looking Chief! But back to the topic, after the Laughlin River Run gun fight a lone rider from one of the MC's involved was shot and killed. Sure would suck if some 1%er mistook the IIRA patch for something its not.

Harleynot
Come on guys..... If a dumb shit probie can't read RIDERS on your patch..... you should be able to handle him.... Keep upper and lower rockers off your back ..is the best advice to keep idiots at bay. I live, ride, party and attend many motorcycle events where clubs are present.... in "the birthplace" of MC's .....and have never had an issue.... It's all how you handle yourself.....common sense. Know your room and don't act like something you're not.... Seems like a drama thread a brewing.... We really don't need the IIRA patch mentioned in a thread about 1% ers..... Just about every club is represented here, HA, Outlaws, Bandidos, Mongols, SOS, Vagos, and more - and we never have a problem. From what I've been told the clubs meet and settle any disputes, and that keeps the peace. I've heard that what the clubs were doing in Waco was similar - they were meeting to discuss issues so things wouldn't escalate. Now in the interests of full disclosure I have to say that I've had some bad experiences with the police, so my view might be tainted. However from what little I've heard about this, something doesn't smell right to me. One witness said they heard something that sounded like a shot (could have been a KM back firing), and the police opened up. We're not being given the whole story here.

KenB
exactly........look closely... one of the Bandidos correctly said something in the restroom to one of the Support Club riders about him riding a Drifter..... and all Hell broke loose..... Ah - well then - the frakus was completely justified. This bothers me though.... Waco Police said they have been threatened by motorcycle gangs after a Sunday shoot out between rivals at a Twin Peaks restaurant that left nine dead and 18 injured. They asked bikers to stay off the streets because it was difficult to distinguish between law-abiding riders and those bent on criminality. http://bikerspost.com/forums/topic/1623/police-want-bikers-off-streets-after-deadly-texas-shooting Not to go all "conspiracy theory" on you - however IF Jade Helm actually is what all the loons are raving about, locking up all the 1%ers and banning motorcycles - well it kinda makes sense.
