Well, I'm sure most of us could think of a worse place to break down but hate to hear of that anyway. Hope you're back on the road soon.

Really? Have you been there?

I have been in contact with Ken.

He has been picked up by a tow truck and on the way to San Diego.

No. But I'm assuming Coachella, CA is better than say, BFE, North Dakota in as far as civilization is concerned. Safety-wise, no idea!

It's the heat and sand storms that get ya.

Ask Tony about the winds.

On the 2014 Vintage and am at a super 8 in El Cajon. Got the bike to the dealer right before they closed so they didn't have a chance to look at it. They'll get to my bike in the late morning today.

All the electrical controls went out, but the engine kept running fine. One moment cruising along fine then the CC kicked off, engine light came on. I the speedo display wouldn't change function, and the gear indicator showing dashed lines. I think this is related to the gas gauge going on and off and the CC not shutting off. All the electrical controls stopped working.

When I stopped the bike in Coachella it would not start again. I had to use the kill switch to stop the engine because the power button and starter switch would not work. The kill switch stopped the engine, but the lights stayed on and I could not shut that down. So in addition to everything else, I have a dead battery.

The bright side of this is that all this will make for a good story.

Too many "features" added to the design just for the purpose of sales. Too much to go wrong.

Give me an electric starter, EFI, CC, and I'm happy. Anything more than that just gets me broke down in El Cajon.

Daammn, sorry ta hear that..

Appears ta be electrically over-engineered..

One minor failure N everything looses it;

it's electronic scrap like that,

that scares the crap outta us.

Sure hope it gets permanently resolved and, you

make the best of it as a mis-adventure on yur road trip..

Wishin you all the best,

:moped:
