Aniwaya
The big O King of the land is going to sign an executive order banning the sale of AR-15 ammo. Better get while you can. I just ordered my unfair share. It's not all AR-15 ammo but the military surplus M855/SS109 steel core green tip ammo. Said they are banning it as it can be used in the AR15 pistol and the steel core tip ammo can penetrate a 1/4 inch steel plate and body armour. Almost all gun ranges/clubs won't let you use it on steel targets as it tear them up. All other AR15 ammo is not in this ban contrary to what people think. It still sucks that he banned it but what sucks more is people thinking it's all AR15 ammo and panic buying which drives up the price.
dk007
And all of this is surprising.....how? The George Soros sock puppet has a long track record of supporting anti-gun laws and he'll utilize any method he can to ban, prohibit, restrict, revoke, rescind, impede or plain outlaw anything related to the 2nd Amendment before he leaves office. One of his campaign promises was to "fundamentally transform America"......and he meant it. Funny how he only follows through campaign promises that take away freedoms or money.....what ever happened to, "I'm going to cut the deficit in half during my first four years in office"? Oops, never mind....it's Bush's fault....
Airpirate
This shithead couldn't do what he wanted through legislative channels last year, so now he continues to go off on a rogue dictator mode. Of course nobody is stopping him, the a holes in Congress already stated thatimpeachment is off the table " so the prick knows he can continue. He's already violated his oath to office numerous times, been caught in bold faced lies, he making law when he has NO authority to do so. This ban is only a start based on a bunch of bullshit and lies about 5.56 55 ball ammo. If they succeed here they will move to other ammo and components. Make no mistake they want American citizens disarmed, Saul Alinsky "you cannot control a population until you have disarmed them". I just fired off e-mails to all of my congress/senate representatives demanding they rein this prick in, you should do the same. the next 700 days will be very dangerous for the America we once knew. Oh yeah, just repoited , he plans on banning the AR-15, can't have Patriots shooting back at the UN or followers of allah
Aniwaya
Get the facts right. It is not being done by Executive Order but by the BATFE no longer exempting M855 ammo. "the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives unexpectedly announced today that it intends to ban commonplace M855 ball ammunition as “armor piercing ammunition.” ....federal law imposed in 1986 prohibits the manufacture, importation, and sale by licensed manufacturers or importers, but not possession, of “a projectile or projectile core which may be used in a handgun and which is constructed entirely . . . from one or a combination of tungsten alloys, steel, iron, brass, bronze, beryllium copper, or depleted uranium.” https://www.nraila.org/articles/20150213/batfe-to-ban-common-ar-15-ammo Yes, it sucks and who know what he will do in the future but this is not being done by EO and it does not include all AR-15 ammo....well at least not this time. All steel core bullet components are included in the ban. If this ban passes it will eventually effect any rifle ammo that can be used in a handgun that meets the armor piercing criteria. If the ammunition was originally produced for rifles, the fact that the rounds can be used in a handgun brings the ammunition within the language of the statutory definition. Got it. I didn't say our glorious President wasn't behind it, just that it wasn't being done by EO, more likely Executive urging. It was exempt for years and the BATFE decided to review that exemption since so many AR-15 handguns are now being made. They have already banned some Russian ammo for the same reason. The easy fix would be for the Repubs to pass a law permanently giving it an exemption but don't hold your breath.

He didn't sign it, it was issued by the head of homeland security. I agree, this is a test balloon before the assault on the rest of ammunition....This guy takes plausible deniability to a new level. Just in case there is any confusion, the dems, despite being in the minority, still control the senate. obama is going to do whatever he wants and nobody is going to do a damn thing about it. Injunction against amnesty? We will just continue to issue work permits. 3 BILLION in funds paid out to insurance companies from the treasury that congress didn't authorize....that just type of order doesn't come from a low level staffer in the Cincinnati office. quigley3
Dems will push the Hildebeest or Fauxahontas in the next election. They saw what they could get away with by getting a non white male elected (twice), imagine the damage they can get away with with one of those two (or both) in the white house. Beauty of it is, both have shown they embrace the wage gap, so they will only be making 72% of the normal pay. So we got that going for us.... No matter how powerful a repub is elected, the dem obstructionists will not allow the current state of affairs to continue. The rules will change again. dems have a PhD in the art of politics and public opinion. repubs are still fingerpainting and eating paste. Homer...my comments have nothing to do with someones skin color....i would be saying same thing if it was Jimmy Carter or Mitt Romney in office pushing these agendas...bypassing congress...running amok with the Constitution. Actually the M855 is NOT true armor piercing round as it is a mild perpetrator with lead and steel mix...but that is besides the point. No reason to ban this ammo at all.....another way to start down the SLIPPERY SLOPE. Any 30 caliber hunting bullet shot from a rifle will go through body armor...and guess what...all of these rifle bullets (308, 30-06, 300, 280, 270, 6.5mm, 7mm, etc) are already available and have been available for decades out of the Thompson Center pistols. Rifle calibers are much more powerful due to propellant capacity and length of barrel that increases velocity of the bullet exiting barrel...hence reason a .45 from revolver will shoot slower and less accurate than out of a lever gun..same bullet, different barrel lengths. Because of this all BIG GAME rifle bullets will easily penetrate LEvel IIa, Level II, and Level IIIa "soft" body armor worn by 90+% of police....even if fired from rifle class pistols like the TC Contender. Once again the difference is in velocity of the round...not what it is made of. Ever see demonstration of straw or reeds penetrating house walls and wood after a tornado. The hay or reeds did not suddenly get as hard as steel...it is all about velocity. Dont believe me...take a soda plastic straw and a normal white potato. Try to push the straw into the tubar like you would a nail or knife. Then do it again but this time be sure to hold potato without hand underneath so you dont stab yourself....take same straw..put thumb over top end and grasp 2/3 of way down and now come down at potato in the quickest motion possible. Just do it....the straw will penetrate the potato easily and sometimes COMPLETELY...hence not having palm under it. It is all about surface area and velocity...PERIOD! Not steel soda straws. LOL What this also means is that if the round (M855 or SS109) that is being banned goes through body armor it has little or no deformation so there will be a small entry and exit hole....not as lethal. Shooting same person with a lead tipped or ballistic tip bullet will still penetrate the body armor but now will mushroom and fragment and cause significantly MORE DAMAGE to the person being shot. This is bad idea and is just a FOOT IN THE DOOR for banning all ammunition...and therefore also our guns...back door gun control. Hard ceramic or composite and even reactive armor will stop most of these but at significantly more cost, more weight, more bulk and more discomfort...and we all know (well if you have ever worn frag or body armor or carried weapon daily) that if it is not comfortable or at least practical...it will not be worn. Additionally, any bad guys pent on killing police or first responders...know to shoot for the armpits, upper thighs, groin, or head shots to bypass body armor completely. Two to body one to head....not just a video game but to ensure someone knocked down or disabled with two torso shots was not JUST STUNNED from the energy of the shot into body armor and would STAY DOWN with one to the cranium. Works in my book. Now another facet is there are 9mm solid core rounds and similar .40 caliber rounds...and they can also penetrate body armor...due to velocity. THe highest Level IV armor (hard armor) is the highest category set and while it can stop most armor piercing rifle rounds up to 166gr .30 cal....but is also the HEAVIEST and LEAST MANEUVERABLE vest option. What does this mean.....banning a group of ammo is not going to save lives and will do little of anything other than be a foot in the door for future ammunition bans in a pseudo weapons band until someone steps up and says no. Remember the Black Talon ban from civilian use...ridiculous legislation. Then what is next ...banning all 7.62x39 ammo shot from the MOST COMMON and LOVED rifle in the WORLD...the AK47 and its variants...that MORE killings are perpetrated with than AR15s and is still the favorite for gang bangers due to utter reliability and price compared to the AR15s. This is nothing more than back door GUN CONTROL by removing one of the most popular rounds for target shooters in United States.
