The Interview

Recommended Posts

Never negotiate with terrorists or small children, for most of the time they are one and the same....

North Korea is reportedly upset that the movie paints Kim Jong Un in a bad light. Therefore it is offensive and must be stopped. That is the supposed reason for the hack. Why in the world would a company pull media from the market that purportedly portrays the dear leader in a bad light? That would be quintessentially un American.

Sony just announced they will pull the movie "The Interview" from public release Christmas Day due to threats of violence from whomever hacked into Sony's computer (exposing Hollywood's racism/sexism/opinionated secrets. While I would not see this movie if it was free (with free popcorn!), I think that censorship by threat of terrorism is about 57 steps over the line. At first I thought this was just a marketing ploy, but to pull a 42 million dollar movie doesn't make sense. Sony should just release it for free just to show those assclowns.

Threats of violence against the American public....and our government does little if anything. How many years ago would a threat like this make South Korea an island in the Sea of Japan? Oh wait, we are lifting the embargo on Cuba because they have changed so much in the past 55 years. And gasoline is a bargain....

We are no longer feared in the world and as a nation have lost our backbone. If the repubs nominate Bush 3.0 or Mitt 2.0 in 2016, the spaying of our nation will be complete....

If every objectionable movie was pulled over someone complaining, there would be nothing to see.

For example, for me (and maybe others) the movie "django unchained" was offensive. The actor who played the lead (I forget who he was) commented in an interview - I get to run around and shoot white people, how great is that? - Seems pretty racist to me.. imagine if some lilly white boy said that about shooting black people?

But if you find a movie objectionable, DON'T GO SEE IT... and I didn't. If people object to the Interview, then don't go see it.

Frankly the Interview is not a movie I'm interested in seeing.... HOWEVER I would go see it now just to shove it in the face of those threatening the American people.

The world is full of perpetually offended people, with feelings that are more important than anyone else's. That is how 1 parent can get Santa booted from a school play, or the dope that thought Ladies Night at a bar was sexist. I read Gordon Ramsay's biography recently and the one thing that stood out for me was when he was going to come to American Television. He did not want to do it because Americans have the reputation of being thin skinned and easily offended. They cannot take criticism in any form, they only want to be told they are wonderful (or something like that). But gobs of money can certainly change a guy's mind.

As I have stated in other posts, politicians, no matter how noble, want to control your life. All of these people that protest are saying that I cannot be trusted to make the decisions they want me to make and therefore they must educate me. But like you I may see it as a big FU to those PO people. I would consider "The Interview" to be just short of cruel and unusual torture to watch...I have seen very little out of Hollywood worth watching over the past 10 years, nor are there any actors/actresses I have any interest in. Everything has an agenda. I have no interest in watching propaganda....

I guess when they show it on the flat screen in the titty-bar I will see parts of it... Maybe not

I know what you will be looking at.

Anytime you show a chink in your armor, someone is going to start boring at it. After the CIA interrogation tapes were released, the first countries to cry foul about the inhumanity of it was Iran, North Korea, China and all the other countries with the worst possible human rights violations in history. Who cares if they're offended?

Personally, I wouldn't go see the movie either. In fact, other than for James Bond, I never go to the theater....although I did go to see "Fury" with my brother. The reason most countries hate our guts is because they watch our movies and "reality" TV shows and think this is how Americans really live.

I've not gone to a theater in years, and I kinda think they're on the way out. It's cheaper and easier to watch Netflix or whatever at home where I can sit in my underwear and yell at the tv.

I like the spooky shit... Paranormal and stuff like that, not too much politics in that.

I remember back a few years ago, a movie came out about the assassination of George Bush. There was no outcry. As a matter of fact, all that could be heard was crickets....

I'm surprised the Hollyweird Elite didn't give it several Oscars during one of their many self-ingratiating award shows.
