When I worked at the local HD dealer our head mechanic (Dave Arnold if you're interested) would go out to Bonneville every summer - he currently holds 3 speed records there. I wish Indian or Indian dealers would do more to lure guys like him into the company... I'd like to see Indian win some records out there.. seems long overdue to me.

What part of Production Class was misunderstood?

I was going to ask - were both of those completely unmodified? If so, not too shabby.

The Chief looks like the bike Robert Pandya rode coast to coast on dirt roads. Total trip only included like 500 miles of pavement. Pandya runs the media liaisons for Indian, and he is a major enthusiast.

Edit: Getting a better look....That is absolutely RP on the Chief. Rode with him from Colorado to Sturgis, and that dude can ride!

,,,,and that's all they can do in the year 2014?

Shucks, I know of a guy in the early 60’s that broke the record for the fastest-ever officially-recorded speed on an Indian at 305.89 km/h (190.07 mph). His unofficial speed record (officially timed) is 331 km/h (205.67 mph).

And I like the guy that did it;

Those look like bycycle tires on that rocket bike ? WTF are those rated for speed wise ? Yikes !

Prolly rated for much more than that scoot went, unlike the days of Burt & the boyz, the tech inspection @ bonny is rather tough. not many scoots that would fall in the POS category...

Nice showing at El Mirage over the weekend for the dry lake races. Did anyone get a picture of the red antique Indian Scout ridin by a small lady who did it one handed when she was shifting with her free hand. Like the idea or race on Sunday sell on Monday, good to see new Indian is keeping up the tradition.

This past weekend Gary Gray, myself and a handful of Indian Motorcycle engineers and friends of the brand headed out to the final SCTA timed event of the season to get some baseline runs in on a 2014 Chief and a 2015 Scout. We had a fantastic weekend, and were treated incredibly well by the SCTA and the Gear Grinders club. If you have not been to an SCTA event, I highly encourage you to attend. The opening weekend for next season is another 2-day affair - May 16,17. More information is available here: http://www.scta-bni.org/events.html

While we did not set any records, which was not our aim to be honest, we did pay our respects to the heritage and glory of Indian Motorcycles past exploits, and met our personal goals.

Elnora will be on display in the customs showcase at the Long Beach International Motorcycle Shows event this weekend alongside the “Spirit of Munro” tribute motorcycle. www.motorcycleshows.com
