A Short Guide To The Middle East.

Recommended Posts

This was a letter to the editor, in the London Financial Times.

It is true, sad and funny, all at the same time.

A Short Guide To the Middle East:

Sir,

Iran is backing Assad. Gulf states are against Assad!

Assad is against Muslim Brotherhood. Muslim Brotherhood and Obama are against General Sisi.

But Gulf states are pro-Sisi! Which means they are against Muslim Brotherhood!

Iran is pro-Hamas, but Hamas is backing Muslim Brotherhood!

Obama is backing Muslim Brotherhood, yet Hamas is against the U.S.!

Gulf states are pro-U.S. But Turkey is with Gulf states against Assad; yet Turkey is pro-Muslim Brotherhood against General Sisi. And General Sisi is being backed by the Gulf states!

Welcome to the Middle East and have a nice day.

KN Al-Sabah,
London EC4, U.K.

Just in case you are still confused, here, another letter to the editor explains in even more detail...

Are you confused by what is going on in the Middle-East?

Let me explain.

We support the Iraqi government in its fight against Islamic State (IS/ISIL/ISIS).

We don’t like IS but IS is supported by Saudi Arabia whom we do like. Sort of.

We don’t like President Assad in Syria.

We support the fight against him, but not IS, which is also fighting against him.

We don’t like Iran, but the Iranian government supports the Iraqi gov’t against IS.

So, some of our friends support our enemies and some of our enemies are our friends, and some of our enemies are fighting our other enemies, whom we don’t want to lose, but we don’t want our enemies who are fighting our enemies to win.

If the people we want to defeat are defeated, they might be replaced by people we like even less.

And, all this was started by us invading a country to drive out terrorists who weren’t actually there until we went in to drive them out.

Do you understand now?”

Absolutely. :Oo:

I can haz an Excedrin now?

Turn the place to glass and let God sort it out.

Sunni vs. Shia

Wahhabi vs. Sunni

Shia vs. Wahhabi

They don't like each other, let alone a strong desire to kill Christians and Jews. Nuke em' all.

They breed like rats. What else do you have to do in the middle of the desert? No TV, no PlayStation, no modern conveniences, no sports, no bacon and no Indian motorcycles.

I remember sitting on the Saudi Arabian boarder when no one knew if Sadam was gong to invade or not and when into a local store to buy some things they called cigarettes but looked more like bay leaves. Anyway we walk into the store and they start jabbering away not knowing one of us spoke Arabic and one was asking the other who we were and the answer was we were here to kill their brothers. Should hae let them cross over and see what they said then.

Yeah, well, while a nuclear strike really sounds appealing, I truely doubt if it would have the desired end result. Unfortunately you can't melt every terrorist or radical out there. Because we let every immigrant, legal or illegal into the States because we're such nice guys, you would then see a dirty bomb, or some other retaliation in New York, Boston, or several major cities. It would do nothing but escalate into a non stoppable blood bath.

Agreed.

While it's a nice fantasy to think that brute force is going to solve this problem, it's not realistic.

Retaliating for ISIS barbaric acts is certainly appropriate, and smacking them down good and hard will impair their ability to gobble up any more territory, and keep them from capturing any more noncombatants, we still have to win the propaganda war.

I need to study the history of the Crusades. For example, the significance of September 11 goes back a long way. The siege of Malta in 1565 and the battle of Vienna in 1683 both involve aggression of the the Ottoman Empire and attempts to expand the caliphate into Europe

Just remember, the Crusades was a response to Islamic aggression, not the other way around.

Exactly - something often distorted by the Islamic sympathizers in the media, schools and government.

Buck Sexton did a great monologue/history lesson on the siege of Malta. The plan of the Ottoman empire was to get to Rome and wipe out the "center of Christianity", kill the Pope and solidify a global (at the time) Muslim caliphate. Malta was the last strong in the Med.

Does ISIS even exist? What evidence is there?

A couple heinous videos?

Obam-ba is making craters in Syria, just like he wanted to eight months ago. Only now, with Iran's blessing and assistance. It's also aligned to the wish of Saudi Arabia. They want instability in Syria, to prevent the Iranian pipeline.

So we kill them dismember them and stuff them with bacon grease and burry them under Synagogues or whatever it takes so they don't get there 72 virgins or the right 72 vigins.

Especially the part about Israel and it's neighbors laying down their arms. Only the total elimination of Israel will be sufficient to satisfy them. Israel only wants to exist.
