So the 2 Dr.s come in, first turns to the other and says "Could you shut the door behind you so we can have some privacy?"

Without a hitch I stood up and said "Oh, I apologize, let me wait out in the hallway till you are done"

That is a chill down your spine moment...

So, at this point it is undetermined scar tissue in my middle lobe on the right side. The CT scan on the 4th of Nov. gives them 3 months for a baseline to work off of. He is strongly convinced it is simply scar tissue from an unknown injury so is not worried about the future.

Smoking (cough cough) weight (pant pant) diet (barf barf) all came up and were discussed. Seems he was not too impressed with my going from 310 to 299 over 6 months. :glare: I assured him if I keep it up I will be at 280 in 2 years. :glare:

Think he is looking for something a little less biscuits and gravy and more wheat germ. :angry2:

To all who sit in that cold chair, my heart goes out to you. It is a shit feeling.

Mike you may wish to explore weight loss surgery. If not I have had great success with protein based diets such as Adkins. I am wishing for positive results for you my friend.

Mike,

I was able to drop 35lbs in less than 3 months following Weight Watchers. I didn't eat their meals but used their calorie and protein counters to manage my meals and portions properly. I also add 30 minutes, five days a week, run on an elliptical.

You can do it.

We know how you feel. Janice just went through the same scare. Went in for a scan on her neck and they saw a spot on her lungs. We had the same reaction and the same result. They think it's nothing but some scarring or benign nodule (she's never been a smoker). Going to monitor just like in your case. Prayers out for you though and for the diet too!

That's the thing I told my wife - I will make a fine looking corpse cause I don't feel less than $100. :D

Ya know the part that is just killin me? I love... no, that is not a strong enough word.... adore - yeah, I adore smoking. I love the taste, the relaxation, the action of it. It is literally the act of rolling on the throttle and hearing the pipes for me. Each and every single time I light up, I adore it.

Goddamn they are killing me.

But think of what it could cost you. What it could cost your wife. Your kids. Grandkids. I feel your pain.

Wow Mike, I remember you said you are an e-cig vape toker now?

Admit it ~ it's your stress relief & it's become an unconscious go-to habit... do you use regular tobacco now?

This came to my inbox yesterday, maybe it's appropriate for many of us....

One of the Adrenal glands main functions is acting as a buffer to stress. They do not differentiate between physical and mental stress and respond in the same way to both. Every type of stress influences these glands; injury, divorce, work, finances, diets, pain, excessive exercise, junk food, kids, spouse, menstruation and so on. It is easy to get stuck in a stress cycle and over work these glands into burnout. Burnout is defined as a major breakdown in the energy producing systems of the body. It goes far beyond fatigue and can be devastating to every aspect of one's life.
The number one symptom of Adrenal Burnout Syndrome is exhaustion or chronic fatigue.
Some other symptoms are cravings for sweets or attraction to stimulants, difficulty with digestion,
weight gain around the belly leaving arms and legs thin, inability to cope with daily life,
hypoglycemia or diabetes, changes in mood and personality, depression, fears and phobias,
anxiety, lack of interest in appearance, loss of concentration, shortness of breath,
dark circles around the eyes, puffiness in the face and edema in the feet, and loss of muscle tone,
among others.
Adrenal burnout can be triggered by a single severe stress but more often it occurs slowly after
years of imbalance in life and inadequate nutrition.

Recovering from adrenal burnout involves dedication to re-evaluating one's life and making the necessary

lifestyle changes to decrease and even eliminate unnecessary stress.

There are specific foods that can feed the adrenals as part of the healing process.

Tobacco is not one of 'em though.
