Indian Motorcycle Community

Recommended Posts

This may or may not have been discussed, but I just noticed it, and it seriously pissed me the fuck off.

Rant follows.

I know there are quite a few Indian forums and whatnot out there, and I am a member on a good number of them.

For the most part, I think this is a Very Good Thing.

Diversity is good for our community, and, personally, I think it's good for everyone to find a place they feel comfortable and that is an internet 'home' for them, with people they know. It's all good.

More Indian sites = marked increase in popularity of our bikes.

I also understand that this site can be rough around the edges sometimes, and not everyone has a thick skin, or finds it comfortable here. I get that. It's good that those folks can find a place to fit in that they feel comfortable.

I am glad for that.

But when you have a site that pops up that didn't exist until recently, that bills itself as

"the Internet's largest Indian Motorcycle Community! "

I am sorry, but that is just a big, fat-assed, blatant LIE.

Seriously?

You are going to start putting your shit out on the internet with a big ol' nasty ass lie?

What does that say about your credibility?

You think that SAYING you are the biggest MAKES you the biggest?

Just because you snagged a great domain name, you get to disrespect and shit on people who have been here since back when you didn't even know WTF an Indian was?

Fuck you, bubba, whoever and wherever your sorry ass is.

Totally NOT cool.

http://www.indianmotorcycles.net/index.php is the site and there are a few us already on it. Not taking sides just putting info here and I am not on the site. What I will comment on is the ascorbic nature of this site that requires a thick skin will only engender more sites. So be it, either fit in here or go est-where has always been the motto here.

Sorry, that just got under my skin.

Mike has busted his ass on this site for many years, we have over 7,000 members, and for some newbie fucktard to come along and claim that they are the largest Indian motorcycle community on the web....

Bullshit.

Aren't they the spawn of the VOG.net?

Would not be surprised.

I'm pretty sure that they moved the Indian subform from there to the new domain. I ventured in while it was on the VOG and didn't stay, too many Vic guys with butt hurt doing more trash talking than on HDforums. It's hard enough to keep up with 2 Indian forums, I don't need anymore.

Seems to me this subject was discussed at Branson for a couple of years. We all knew our close knit community was really gonna go crazy with a bunch for FNG's. I met a guy on a Chieftain in Ludlow, Ca.a couple weeks ago and after about ten seconds I realized this guy was a kook and a waste of time to talk to.

A few people here resemble that remark too - and they don't happen to ride an SL bike....just sayin'

Ain't nothing on that site that's not on here or the others. There are some people who post the same exact thing on any forum they can find. personally, I'm getting tired of hearing about a "First class Indian dealer offering two tones and great, efficient, friendly service". OK, Gregory Polaris does good paint. I get that. But, sheesh, seems like any time that dealer lets out a fart all his fanbois post about it.

meh ... forum wars. not interested. but you know I could retaliate against them by going there with an EPIC whine.

For me THIS is the original Indian forum. The one I was on LONG ago when I had my Gilroy.. the one I went to when I decided to buy a KM.. and yes, the one I whined on while waiting for my SL.

Here is where I learned how to fix the issues with my Gilroy. Here is also where I sold my Gilroy.

This is also the forum I contacted while on the road and was having mechanical problems with my KM. Here people gave me the info I needed to make the fix and get home.

Here is also where I can find the best and most unbiased information regarding issues with my bikes.

Here also is where I met a bunch of really cool guys... consider how we all post our travel plans and everyone comes on with offers to meet up along the way.. does that happen on other forums? not in my experience.

So let the others say what they want on other forums. Good for them I say and good riddance.

So the FNGs who get ticked off here can find a place on another forum. Consider it separating the wheat from the chaff.

I agree. My time's limited as it is. This others site's saying is just a marketing ploy to lure people in.

I wasn't the one starting the rant, I was only providing input as to the origins of that forum. There is a reason why all of us are here, including us newbies that haven't owned a Garlic or KM. Have another cup of coffee.
