Dr. Mark
Fred "God Loves Dead Soldiers" Phelps, who's Westboro Baptist "Church" was mostly responsible for the formation of the Patriot Guard Riders, to shield families of soldiers from their asinine protests, has died. To borrow from Bette Davis, who said this first, upon finding out about Joan Crawford dying... "My mother said to only say nice things about the dead. He's dead. How nice."

LabRat
No one should show up at his funeral he should be ignored showing up gives him the publicity he would hope for I was thinking lining his funeral with flags and silence because it was those that fought and died for what that flag stands for gave the jackwaggon the right to do what he did. Kinda like a final spit in the face.

injuncowboy
It would say a lot more if not one single person attended his funeral. That would make a statement.

TallRider
For those of you who are members of the PGR . . . a high school classmate of mine, who has two sons that are Navy Seals, posted the following on her Facebook page tonight . . . "After the Chinook helicopter was shot down in Afghanistan in August of 2011 killing many Navy SEALs, I went to Nicholas Spehar's funeral at the St. Paul Cathedral. There had been some concern that the Westboro folks would be there - but that wasn't going to happen! Easily close to 300 Patriot Guard Riders stood honor guard - on the sidewalks surrounding the Cathedral, along both sides of the long slope of steps leading up to the front doors, and at all exterior doors! It was amazing - and I was so grateful! Phelps's people would not have had a chance."
