2blackbelts
Yep, sping training has started, and its taken forever. I have caught some part of every game broadcast so far this spring. I plan on being at the KC Royals home opener with free tickets courtesy of the Chicago White Sox (if they have any left) Go Royals, Go Cardinals

Micmac
My Grandpa (the guy whose picture I post on here) took me to Fenway Park in 1960 because it was Ted Williams final year playing. I was a snot nosed little kid,we watched the guys workout before the game. Teddy Baseball was a fucking giant to my brother and I. He tossed balls to the kids there and waved and smiled. I will never forget that day. He has always been one of my heroes, and always will be. He chose to serve his country instead of his career, a concept foreign to modern professional athletes (save Pat Tillman, another hero). If he stayed home he would have easily surpassed Babe Ruth and Hank Aaron.

Dr. Mark
Cards fan from birth, like everyone in my family. Jack already has a toddler Cards hat, bought in St. Louis, before he was a year old. Only the Worthless Damn Yankees have more series rings than the Cardinals! Fuck the Yankees. And fuck George Steinbrenner's pinstriped dead ass. And, oh yeah, fuck the 2004 Boston Red Sox. And fuck that goddamn bloody sock, too. Fuck the 2013 Sox, but not as much as the 2004's. Fuck them twice. And that damn sock. Most extra special pretty-please-with-a-cherry-on-top-ESPECIALLY, fuck the 1985 Kansas City Royals and FUCK American Fucking League Umpire Don Fucking Denkinger frontwards, backwards, sideways and RUNNING. Forever and ever, amen.
Micmac
My cousin pitched for the Cards AGAINST the Red Sox in the Series in1967 ; Actually they are my third favorite team behind the O's. I like all baseball except the fucking Spankees, except here lately with most of the arrogant fucks gone I don't mind most of them either. Riveria was a class act, as is Jeter. Swisher, Chamberlin, Ster-Rod and all those arrogant fucks are history. I wish Jacoby Ellsbury well with the team. He will play 120 good games for them barring any injuries, which seem to be the norm for them. Hey Mark in the World Series battle between the two teams 2-2 . From Wiki: The most recent World Series was won by the Boston Red Sox, who defeated theSt. Louis Cardinals four games to two in 2013. In the American League, the New York Yankees have played in 40 World Series and won 27, the Oakland/Philadelphia Athletics have played in 14 and won 9, and the Boston Red Sox have played in 12 and won 8, including the first World Series. In the National League, the St. Louis Cardinals have appeared in 19 and won 11, the San Francisco/New York Giants have played in 19 World Series and won 7, and the Los Angeles/Brooklyn Dodgers have appeared in 18 and won 6. Dr. Mark
Yeah, I don't really hate the Sox. 2004 hurt though. I hate we had to be the ones to break the bambino's curse, I hate that we had our best regular season in 60 years, but then couldn't seal the deal. Everyone expected the Cards to win in 6 or 7, but we got tooled in four. Jebus. You're right Pete, the Yanks are going to be a little harder to hate now that Steinbrenner's dead and the arrogance level has dropped...but... Nah. They are still the NY Fucking Yankees. I live for the day the Cards get the chance to beat the Yankees in the series again. Hasn't happened since 1964. Hope it happens in my lifetime. If it does, I am taking Jack to one of the games at Busch, for damn sure, and I don't care what the fucking tickets cost. My dad took me to Game 2 of the '68 series. It was an afternoon game, on a Tuesday. We got our asses handed to us, 8-1, but I'll never forget it. Briles was pitching. Dad tried to get game 1 tickets, because Gibson was pitching that game, but of course, it was sold out. The only way he got us in to game two was he knew somebody had tickets, and they weren't going to go because of some family thing or something.. We were in the upper deck, midway between home and 1st, only a couple of rows back, and I almost caught a fly ball...it came down about three or four seats over. Still get a lump in my throat thinking about going to Busch stadium with my dad. The game pretty much sucked though. Briles gave up a homer to their pitcher, for God's sake. Think about that for a minute. A National League pitcher gave up a homer to an AMERICAN LEAGUE PITCHER. Jesus wept.

2blackbelts
Ted Williams, in my opinion, was, and still is the absolute greatest, and most pure hitter baseball has ever had. A fantastic batting average, 521 HR's, and a fabulous on base percentage. Five years as a fighter pilot pretty much deducted another 200 or so home runs and another 800 -900 hits from his total career. I've been fortunate to have sold equipment to several MLB teams, and they always give me tickets when I ask them. If I was rich, I would buy a box at Royals stadium and just live there all year. My friend here in little ole Nevada, MO. has one of the largest private baseball museums in the US. He has EVERY baseball card printed since 1953. He has a chair from EVERY major league stadium ever torn down, and has an autographed ball from EVERY hall of famer. Of course many of them were acquired decades after the player had passed, but to hold a Cobb, or Ruth, or Cy Young ball is something to behold. I was lucky enough to get a big box of goodies from the Red Sox for his museum. Nothing finer in the summer than riding the Indian to Royals Stadium.

Micmac
I'm gonna try to be in Baltimore opening day, Red Sox vs O's if at all possible. Camden Yards is a beautiful park, the most expensive seat is $65.00. When Glace, Moses and I were returning from Sturgis, we were listening to the Red Sox on the XM, who were playing the Royals, we drove right past the Stadium in Kansas City! One day I'm gonna catch a game there, it is beautiful. Later we drove past Bush Stadium in St. Louis, and you guessed it, a game was being played. We couldn't stop. I got to see a game at the old stadium in Baltimore when I was in med school and spent one summer at Bethesda. Got to see Ripken play. That was cool. The new Busch is really pretty, too. One of the new retro-parks. Strange not to see the bottle-cap looking top of Busch Stadium on the St. Louis skyline though. Part of my childhood. Gonna try to make a couple of games this summer, get Jack started off on the right foot.
