Government Shutdowns & Adorablecare Microchips?

Recommended Posts

The blackbox vehicle issue seems trivial when compared to major issues.

Disappearing carreers, fewer peeps working as jobs vanish, government obese with bureaucrats, forced unfunded mandates, geometric progression into unrepayable nationwide debt, out of control regulators, The country we love is slithering down a government created black hole of waste and debt burdens for upcoming generations to inherit.

Nice day out today, though!

I think we should look at the government shutdown as debt reduction....

200,000 federal workers at 50 bucks an hour is $80,000,000 a day in savings... I know we got a long way to go... but if we keep it shut down for a year, or 270 days.... we save $21,600,000,000.... woohooo.......our debt is gone....

Unfortunately Stu, they will all get back pay, so we aren't saving shit. I wish we were, but nope. Also, word is that over 70% of federal employees are still on the job.

Given that we pay the salaries for all government workers, we're paying their potion of taxes as well - so not only to we pay our taxes, we pay theirs.

BTW, I'm sure I'm already on their 'list'

Afraid so - yes, this is paid vacation. Nearly all of the non-essential employees are unionized and union leaders are demanding back pay per their contracts.

1) They are entitled to collect unemployment:

2) Unions fighting for back pay:

Sickening isn't it.

Funding a standing army is one of the FEW things that the Feds do that is actually in the constitution and you guys should get paid regardless.

you be the judge.. can not verify its true, but goes inline with all the other chit.

If you do not have to sign up with Obamacare on their website PLEASE DON'T! Once you see the cost of premiums and yearly deductible and choose to opt out from that point they will within a few hours email you stating your actual fees in which now they will by any means collect.
REAL EXAMPLE ---- Please Read & Please Forward ASAP!!!
A comment posted on the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare FB page:
"I actually made it through this morning at 8:00 A.M. I have a preexisting condition (Type 1 Diabetes) and my income base was 45K-55K annually I chose tier 2 "Silver Plan" and my monthly premiums came out to $597.00 with $13,988 yearly deductible!!! There is NO POSSIBLE way that I can afford this so I "opt-out" and chose to continue along with no insurance. I received an email tonight at 5:00 P.M. informing me that my fine would be $4,037 and could be attached to my yearly income tax return. Then you make it to the "REPERCUSSIONS PORTION" for "non-payment" of yearly fine. First, your drivers license will be suspended until paid, and if you go 24 consecutive months with "Non-Payment" and you happen to be a home owner, you will have a federal tax lien placed on your home. You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy "Automatically withdraw" your "penalties" weekly, bi-weekly or monthly! This by no means is "Free" or even "Affordable."

IMHO, the bottom line is that Obamacare will fail on it's own...or unless someone brings a good legal action before SCOTUS again.
After the reading this morning, it is blatenly clear that not many people have or had a clue about the cost of this per individual. They are already starting to yell. Of course one can always opt out and pay the fine, which is reported to be $95...OR...1% of your gross, whichever is more. So...if you make $50k a year...puke up $500 and a lot of grief if you don't pay. It will get worse...:
One other thing-it appears that while the actual cost of a plan is off the chart, one of the main issues is deductibles...often $5,000 and very much more. That of course means you have to spend that much FIRST, before your health insurance kicks in. This is not good.

The penalties are not very high to begin with. In 2014, the fine to remain uninsured is $95 per person (up to a family maximum of $285, or 1 percent of family income, whichever is greater).

But the penalty will increase more than sevenfold in the next two years, with the fine running as much as $695 per person by 2016. The family maximum would be as high as $2,085 (or 2.5 percent of family income, whichever is greater).

All I know is coverage for my wife and daughter went from $279 per month with a deductible of $3000 each to $454 per month with a deductible of $5500 each with no change in our medical status. F'n a-holes.

Beginning of the End.
Liberal New Republic suggests Obama use military against Tea Party
October 1, 2013

On Tuesday, the liberal New Republic published an article that was a not-so-subtle suggestion that Barack Obama use military force against the Tea Party in the same manner Boris Yeltsin used it against hardliners in his government nearly 20 years ago.

"What is a president in a presidential constitutional republic to do when faced with an intransigent, bull-headed faction among his people's representatives?" Julia Ioffe wrote.

She then gave a brief synopsis of the events that took place, saying Yeltsin faced a situation similar to what Obama now faces.

"Almost exactly 20 years ago, he dissolved parliament. The vice president and the speaker of the parliament dissolved Yeltsin's presidency, and holed up with their supporters in the parliament's headquarters, now known as 'the White House,'" she said.

"Then Yeltsin did this to it," she added immediately above a picture of a Russian armored vehicle in front of a flaming government building.

Although Ioffe didn't explicitly say Obama should order the military to fire on members of the Tea Party, the implication was quite clear, and didn't go unnoticed by readers of the New Republic.

"And liberals say there is no reason for Americans to own an AR-15," one reader said.

"How far TNR has fallen," another reader commented.

"Wow. The leftist authoritarians are really off the hook," added another reader.

It's not the first time a member of the media has suggested Obama use the military against the small-government, pro-Constitution organization.

In August 2011, Froma Harrup, the head of the Editorial Writer's Board, implied Obama use the military against the Tea Party.

An editorial cartoon published by Arizona Daily Star cartoonist David Fitzsimmons that same month was not so subtle in its suggestion that Obama deploy Navy SEALs to assassinate Tea Party Republicans.

Other liberals op-eds have suggested the same thing, while a columnist at the Washington Post agreed with a "longtime friend" that those responsible for this week's shutdown should be beheaded.

It's almost enough to make one think liberals really do want a second, bloody civil war in America.

I heard this morning it is actually 81%.

81% doesn't surprise me - didn't have accurate number and didn't want some lib calling me out for saying something like 80% when it's actually something like 79% - they do that you know and then use that to discredit you and change the subject :)

Not that I've seen too many liberals here...yet.

As to the New Republic - holy sit - the progressives are getting bold, that's for sure. While there is no reference to the US - the timing of the article certainly suggests what they want Ovomit to do.
