Dr. Mark
Yeah I saw that ad in a couple of other bike mags in the airport in Atlanta this past week. Can't say they aren't going full-court-press. They are all up in Harley's grill. Being a hardcore Indian guy I love it...but... I do wonder if they are not going to alienate some of the very people they are trying to woo...

Doc
This advertising is more a gentle poke in the eye than a kick in the nuts.Good job Polaris.
indiantoo
I would say that if the HD boys are offended by this ad they need to change their diaper or tampon and grow up. Good marketing on Indians part and create a buzz, or "build it and they will come" Price IS an issue if they want to sway other riders to purchase the Indian brand. They have to be comparable in features for the $$. Not everyone is fanatical on the Marque like majority on this site. There are riders who want 1 bike to ride and can not afford more than one so make it worthy of that trust. They want to build a larger following and that takes time...
AlbertaIndianChief
There's a fella doing a write up on the Bub that happened after Bonneville speed week ... He contacted our website looking for Alberta's Indian Terry because he rode his Pistol Whip down there and was doing a story on him , and others I suspect . Don't know what magazine it will be in , but keep a look out . It should be out soon.
maninbox
Being a hardcore Indian guy I love it...but... I do wonder if they are not going to alienate some of the very people they are trying to woo... I agree. I would think they would be better off to just stick to promoting the Indians. Let the viewer draw thier own conclusions about the competition. Won't pay off to belittle Harley Davidson or thier buyers. Millions of people love Harleys, me included. RickkciR
The more I look at this ad, the more seeing a bunch of posers in leather staring at their bikes on trailers ( doesn't matter what brand) just cracks me up
Harleynot
I'm not afraid to have a little fun..... . I love every bit of these ads. Harley hasn't had anybody able to mess with their position at the top for many years. Indian is a fart in a wind storm with regards to sales of bikes and merchandise. This incoming competition looks to be real for the first time in over 60 years. If you read what the Harley boys say on their boards, they welcome The New Indian Motorcycle by Polaris. Many of them feel like having Another Real American Made Motorcycle Brand available will get The Motor Company of Milwaukee off its ass and build them better bikes to ride. I agree completely. Indian Motorcycles and their riders are gonna hear shit behind their backs at most local gatherings. I say embrace it, have fun with it and get your comebacks locked and loaded! whadayawant
Maybe they should run their ads under Hork's post. I'm sure that'd put'im in his place. Whats that ya say, Horks not on th' road either ? Well, maybe INDIAN can sell/loan him a trailer. Oldphart
I agree entirely. I love the various antiHarley ads but I think they're going to "alienate some of the very people they are trying to woo". The HD rank and file are already deeply entrenched in the brand and there's only so many folks out there with that kind of money to spend on a motorcycle. PPScoutrider
Well, Polaris is certainly upping the anti--AND putting pressure on itself I would add. If Polaris puts out a poor quality product that has performance issues, these ad's could really come back to haunt it. What they are saying is that their Indian product is going to perform, be reliable, and a run-everyday/anytime, anywhere bike, with no fear in taking the bike on long runs/trips. I for one am looking forward to that, and Polaris, based upon its ad's, had better produce, or this will be the final attempt at an Indian resurection IMO. Harleynot
They came to Branson, told us they were gonna produce a bike that we will not have the service issues experienced in the past. Greg Brew said, we will need to change the oil and check the tires. That's it ! It ain't bragging if you can back it up! Why not embrace the concept and give them a chance to back it up. Do you really think that the marketing people don't ask themselves the very questions that you guys have posted in the last few comments? " Ladies and Gentlemen, if we put out those ads hammering the HD loyal enthusiasts and the engineering dept. comes out with a half-assed motorcycle, this ad campaign could come back to bite us." Of course they know this could be a problem. I don't think they are that dumb. Don't you think that a 3 billion dollar company has focus groups to test these ads on before they release them? Go back and read the hundreds of posts and look at the many threads on this very Indian Motorcycle Community forum concerning a lack of advertising for our beloved Brand. The company is working with Colle + McVoy in Minneapolis on advertising, bitch at them. Get in on their focus groups. http://www.collemcvoy.com/work-indian-choice-is-coming Lots of users whining and complaining about the LACK OF ADS for Indian Motorcycles. Well, here they are..... Indian Motorcycle riders enjoy NOT being part of the crowd. Everybody but Stu that is..... Embrace it and have some fun with it. Polaris is..... Harleynot
betcha didn't think I'd have a comeback pic for that one... ... ..you can just imagine how many "middle fingers" I got hauling 4,400 miles out and back to Branson one year ! I gotta ask... does your bike have more miles on a trailer or on the road? Cuz I see a helluva lotta trailer questions here....from Indian owners... not saying trailering is a bad thing, well, actually, but I remember my grandma used to say... people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones..... firebird77clone
Terrible ad. I had no idea what they were trying to say. If y'all are interpreting it correctly, then the new chief had better be dead - reliable.
firebird77clone
Hell, I'll give them a better ad than that. A group of assorted brands bikes, and a small group of people: the people are looking at the Indian, ignoring the rest. No caption needed, just the Indian logo.
