Sundaram
So Harley has a pretty tight relationship with the UFC in regard to advertising their brand. What avenues and outlets do you see Indian pursuing as far as television spots, and media partners when they start doing national advertising? Airpirate
The race team is good IF you're in the winners circle a lot. I suspect most Indian target demos don't really much about it. Indian will have to target two to three demographics and have marketing collateral to appeal each segment. Depending on what they are selling (model) we can safely assume that the focus will be in the new Chief (before anything else). That being said, initially you market to to the segment that has brand recognition, i.e. current Indian riders, the older end of the 25 to 54 demographic and qualitative profiles that can afford a new Chief. This can be accomplished in a few ways: 1) Targeted sponsorships of events such as Sturgis, The Cannonball, concerts such as the Stones, (classic rock country etc) 2) Targeted TV commercials on shows that appeal to males 25-54, i.e. sports, SOA, Justified, etc 3) Direct mail to current owners of cruiser style bikes 4) Social Media interaction through Facebook , Twitter offering incentives for test rides 5) Partnerships with celebrities that endorse Indian that appeal top the target market. 6) Develop promotions with America, i.e. US Military, Wounded Warriors, July 4th, build on Americas FIRST motorcycle , MADE in America Initially the brand needs to roll out and expand recognition, establish a quality and heritage with Indian. Then they expand the customer base with additional models aimed at younger riders.
