Dr. Mark
Most of you have probably seen or heard about the Gibson Les Paul Indian Motorcycle Special Edition, guitar. Well, this one is a bit unusual. If you recall, the Les Paul Indian edition was issued in 2002, for the introduction of the 2002 Indian Chief, with the (then) vaunted PowerPlus 100 engine. The Les Paul was available in any of the two tone color schemes that were available that year, but by far and away the most common was (big shocker here) the black and red version. The Blue and silver was pretty common too...well, common for a limited edition of only 50 guitars, that is. Here is the rarest of the already rare Les Paul Indian guitars...the Black and Cream. There were only three of these made, of the fifty. Cheap, at only $10,500. OK, now here's the real kicker...this same guy just sold, also for $10,500, one of the second rarest (only 4 made) of these guitars... The Copper/Black: Take a mental photo, guys. This will likely be the last time you see these two. Damn.

Last Resort
Um, please don't tell my wife that. I might need a place to stay. I was thinking it ... glad you said it. I know a few people that would not blink at that price range ... and up.
Dr. Mark
I was thinking it ... glad you said it. I know a few people that would not blink at that price range ... and up. True. A lot of professional musicians wouldn't blink. Depends on how you look at it...if it's a tool for your profession, then you look at it way differently. And of course, there are the stinky rich collectors, to whom this is couch cushion change...
maninbox
In my opinion, at this point those Gibson Indian Les Paul are purely collector's items. It's a whole different world for collectable instruments like that. Whoever buys them for those kind of prices probably won't be using them. When they first were out, the list price was about $6,000 but nobody paid list price. I saw many bought and sold in the $2500 to $3500 range. Now, my guess is that just about all of them have found homes with collectors. Let me put it this way. I wish I woiuld have bought one when I had the chance. I held one in my hands and didn't go for it for $3,200. I tried to bargain that price down. Serves me right. I have never gotten that collector value thing right.
