Brock
they are looking for every single loophole to take this property away from the fella...he owns the property and owes no bills to anyone.......but lives a subsistance life...and the taxes on the property are what they are killing him with. Total BULLSHIT that you lose your property and belongings because the state wants you to give them a tax payment on what you ALREADY FUCKING OWN!
maninbox
Everyone has to pay for the benefits and privileges of living in the United States. But I got the impression that it is building codes that are the big problem here. At least, that's what the articles say. Maybe an exemption can be arranged if enough people support Turtle Island. I get the impression that we are not getting the whole story here.
Brock
it started with him not being able to afford property taxes on place...as his only income is selling firewood and teaching survival/subsistence living to people that want to learn the OLD WAYS. He even had to ride his horse through mountains to town to stand up for himself. Once there became the public outcry after his appearance on the television series weekly.....they started saying he was running a business and was in violation of building codes for building new structures such as horse stalls, sheds for firewood, repairs on his home, etc.....which NOBODY out in the rural areas files for building licenses they just do the work and make the repairs. This guy has no electricity, uses outhouse, water comes from mountain stream, grows and shoots all of his own food......
It is Baloon
In Turtle's case...wonder what the TV show pays him. There must be plenty others without a tv show. It seems too ez to just say freedom ain't free. ANyway, Turtle TV show reminds me how much I got and reminds me others who fought died, or maimed, for our freedom. jus say'n. ride um
Brock
all i am saying is land owned and paid for with sales tax already paid.....why should someone pay for it again and again every year. Property tax is a rip off.........one day gold and land might be only thing worth a penny around and government is trying to take it all. Scalper38
Property taxes or income taxes. Take your pick. The smart states (ie: Texas, Tennessee, et al) don't have income taxes but have high property taxes. Think about that a minute: everybody is happy cuz they don't pay income taxes, BUT, let them miss a year or two of property taxes and the state now owns new property. Brock
need to increase sales tax...more you buy the more you pay......maybe exempt milk, eggs, meat, diapers but everything else....put a 10% tax on the purchase. Period! Then they would even be collecting taxes from the illegal criminals over here.....the pimps and whores....the crack dealers....and others that dont pay income taxes but spend money like it is going out of style.
