Brock
yeah I am hoping it is a success so it will drive down the cost of a low mileage vert or coupe C5 2002-2004.....or if it goes really crazy maybe a 2008 C6 in couple years. yep the liftgate latch in rear and the cabin air filter were only parts re-used from C6 Vette. if you put a Camaro and the C7 side by side...they are really NOTHING alike..... they really did it up good on that interior though..corinthian leather avaialble...two different performance seats.....NICE...no more plain interiors. Also shaved upward of 140 lbs off weight while increasing horsepower while still meeting all current and future EPA rules.....0-60 in LESS THAN 4 seconds and this is only on the BASE MODEL they showed. The Base will have carbon fiber, engine and it all for around $53k MSRP they are guessing. I know some that are waiting to see what is done with a ZO6 or ZR1 performance model if the BASE model is now able to outperform the Grand Sport. And how cool is the Stingray emblem... darkrider
I'm not really into vettes either. I'm just impressed by the horsepower by a base model right outta the factory, and the milage. this has got to be a design where they shut 2 cyls down at cruise speeds. and even that is decades old technology
Brock
actually it goes to 4 cylinders on highway in 7th gear....but any movement of throttle goes back to 8 cylinders instantly. There is a lot of new technology in the vette. I have loved them since I was little boy and my dads best friend and our neighbor when he was in Marine Corps had a blue Stingray and a hot wife, her name was Miss Jan. We thought he was the coolest for both of his rides......been vette lover ever since. old Land Cruisers, Indian Motorcycles, Corvettes.......dont get much better. RickkciR
Used Corvettes right now are the best deal/value going... Low mileage, crazy performance and handling for 15-25k . And with all that actually comes good gas mileage.... gotten 30mpg on a perfect day , down the highway, keeping my foot out of it...

I always love going to test n tune night and watch how hard the guys in the new vettes and vipers try to not get lined up with me in the pits. its all in good fun of course

RickkciR
I've looked at trading up from my C5 to a C6 . and now.. the C7... BUT.. the damned things paid for , has low miles.. and is capable of handling more than anything I can throw at it. I don't take it to the strip or road course, so, don't need the extra 100HP they come with now . Even considered turbos or supecharger for it, but... as i said, don't push it that hard... BUT.. damned..... this new C7 sounds over the top... I know when I see it going down the hwy, I'll be twitching and stopping at the dealer for a peek. Thx bro... kicker is, I wanted a triple black.... In/out/top .....but stumbled across this one ( 9 mo's old with 3k miles) ... couldn't pass up the deal. Wifes' car is black.. and as you hint at .... keeping it clean is friggn' work!

If you go up a generation give me a yell if you sell your C5 LOL. A new Indian may have to wait a while....hahaha Now if I had a sugar momma...the C7 with camel leather interior, graphite colored wheels in the green or cyber gray paint would be in the drive way.

Never know! I'll tuck that away in case I do something crazy:) Grey/silvers are definitely sharp. Main reason I wouldn't mind bumping to a C6 is you can park an Edelbrock supercharger under the hood and take the stock 405HP north of 500hp.... every time I start putting serious thought into it, I talk myself out of it.. no other feeling like an Indian on 2 lanes, so not sure why I continue to torture myself with the thoughts of this ... I got this before my first Indian and haven't been able to part with it Edited January 16, 2013 by rickkcir
