SwissIndian
The end ....... When Lance Armstrong celebrated his record-breaking seventh Tour de France title in 2005, he made the following prescient speech: "I'll say to the people who don't believe, the cynics and the sceptics: I'm sorry for you. I'm sorry you don't believe in miracles." More than a dozen former team-mates, friends and former team employees confirm a fraudulent course of conduct. Armstrong acted with the help of a small army of enablers, including doping doctors, drug smugglers and others within and outside the sport and his team. He had ultimate control over not only his own personal drug use but over the doping culture of the team. Team staff were good at predicting when testers would turn up and seemed to have inside information. It was a team work .......... it is sad but ...... I am riding my Indian and this is my glory

NC-Chief
Although I am not the cyclist in our family nor am I viewing the situation from a competitive sport perspective, but I find it incredible that a person who's body was completely ravaged by cancer was able to become healthy enough to win the Tour seven times. Sure it was done by chemicals, pain endurance & perserverance - but he still did it (i.e., kick the shit out of cancer). I'm not a fan of Lance Armstrong for many reasons but I have to admire that he beat what so many aren't able to do: Live Strong as the rest is noise. badndn
The drugs probably caused the cancer. He's a cheater, not a hero.
NC-Chief
Not saying he's a "hero" as I'm not a fan of Lance Armstrong nor am I spectulating on what causes cancer - but it's amazing that someone who had advance cancer could achieve 7 Tour wins with the assistance of drugs. What might drugs of promise do for those who are just trying to make it period. Fund cancer research and Live Strong.
maninbox
I wanted to support Lance to the bitter end but I have been swayed by all the evidence. All he can possibly do now is admit all of it and stand up like a man. All of his credibility is gone. There is nothing left but the truth. Maybe he can save just a little dignity for himself by finally acknowledging the facts. If not, then there is nothing left for him.

seefriedm
My Grandpop told me long ago, son you only come into this life with one thing...your name, and when you leave this world you leave with just your name and what it stands for. I loved him and so did the almost 3 thousand folks that were there to say goodbye. These words were spoken by a man who wasn't rich or famous, but always was there offering a hand to those in need, nough said Edited October 23, 2012 by seefriedm
XV62
For the pompous ass, Pat McQuaid, that said "Armstrong has no place in cycling and has been stripped of the 7 TDF titles", but then says there will be no titles awarded to the runners up because 20 of the 21 top finishers were as guilty as Armstrong just says to me that the "sport" of cycling has no place in any organized competition. Or that if they are all cheating, then let the strongest cheater win.
Brock
i would like this organization to go after all of the tour winners to investigate whether they were doping or doing blood transfusions with the same veracity. they only went after Lance as he decimated the best of the european cyclists....he and Greg Lemond were the two great american cyclist. investigate Benard Hinault, Laurent Fignon, Eddy Mercxx, or Miquail Endurain (sp??).....who were all dominant in the sport during their tenure and did things nobody thought possible.

Brock
x2.....if the piss tests did not show it then they dont have any proof. just hearsay and speculation without FACTS from disgruntled competitors that maybe did not like him...or he pissed them off. Until I see results from his piss tests done back then....I dont care what they say. If he was doing it then every other mother fucker at that level was doing it too....period!
