Whata Trip----0n the 395 18 mi north of Reno, I take a piece of flying crap to the right eye from a flat bed semi that I was trying to pass. Some how it got around my Wiley safety glasses. Not bad figured it would wash out. After check in at the Legacy and rinsing eye out we head down to the Floor to commence ---Beers----- What ever was in eye decided to travel around in my sleep. by 6:am slightly

woozy from beer its buggin the hell out of me and I cant wash it out ----so at 8 am we walk the 2 blocks to ST Marys emergency to have It checked out cause if I scratch the eye any worse I wont be able to ride home. Them clowns look in my eye with a magnifying glass and a Infa-red light and cant see shit cause their optology eye machine is broken, So they swab me and send me to Walgreen's for. Meds.

At this point i feel better but when the numb wears off I can tell somethings still there I think--Next day same thing all over again ,So I'm off to optometrist in a cab thats advertising Mustang Ranch on the top. "Coulda got a better douche there" Cute little China Doll ( I still have 1 good eye ) douches my eye and never did see what it was but it seemed to be gone . 3 days of walking around with a watering eye but good enough to ride the 5 hours home on Sunday. My buddies Harley

Had to be towed cause a lifter wiped out his (Woodie )------W6h that is.. His brother got Boned nearly $900 from the Harley dealer for a starter install right after arrival and His Buddy's motor was sounding like a can of nuts and bolts ( Harley said it was the dreaded 110 short skirt rattle ----He had 2 months left on his warranty and said screw it ill drive till it blows an leave it on the highway so he left for southern Cali on Sunday Morning----Indian 1, Harley .-3 eyeball 1 outa 2---The Mustang cab driver $$$

Big tip weekend

Your a grown man (I assume you are) so the helmet is your choice but after my son was hit by a drunk sob that turned left in front of him, Starflight to hospital in Austin about 60 miles, seeing him laying in the emergency room out of it head swollen up, he was not wearing a helmet when that truck hit him well that was a slap in the face for me. I went an bought me a full face and started wearing it. I remember after he started coming around after surgery to for broken ankle he was saying he was going to buy him a full face helmet too. If he would of landed on the highway instead of sliding thru the ditch it could of been a lot worse. But at least you had some glasses on so that helps some.

I remember on one trip we were on coming thru backroads of Colorado and a truck pulled out in front of him pulling a cattle trailer hauling ass ahead of us and two lug nuts came off of one of the rear wheels on left side. I was behind him and I saw them coming at him and he dodged them. Now if one or both would of hit him that would of hurt.

What does this have to do with a helmet? Although Terry didn't say he was wearing a helmet, Nevada has a helmet law, so we must assume he was wearing one, even if it was a half shell. For your info, motorcops don't wear full face helmets. His Wliey's should have given him full protection for his eyes but shit happens.

Bug off about the helmets, it's a non issue.

Sounds like a good adventure I/Terry.. Glad it wasn't any worst for ya N, hope your eye heals well..

We had a close call Friday with an 18 wheeler; L/H rear tire blow out and shreading; glad we weren't

any closer when it happened, dodgin moving road debris while being peppered with flyin debris was

bad enough, some of that was enough to take ya out...

I agree helmet laws suck --How ever if their wasn't a helmet law in Cali I probably wouldn't wear one-- to my detriment---to damn hot .

so I'm glad there is one and the Macho factor would keep many from wearing a helmet---I quit riding in the 70s cause the helmet law

pissed me off ( young and stupid )-- oh yeah I blew up my Yamaha ---Damn loaded logging truck tried to take me out today when he ran a red light right in town but I punched it and he missed me by 20' -- Shit happens --and I depend a lot on my Guardian Angel to cover my ASS then skill then luck--- Eye is healed and I can now see the old lady coming at me with the frying pan for some shit I probably said ,did or didn't do--- WTF alls good again

You miss my meaning. Wearing your safety gear should be your responsibility. It shouldn't be forced upon you by our government as if we are too stupid to know better.

I cannot wear a DOT helmet because it causes neck & spinal pain. Everytime I get pulled over, I get hassled by the man for not wearing a DOT helmet.
