Bomber Rydr
So this afternoon a few buddies and I decided we'd head over to Chick-Fil-A for a a chicken sandwich. More to support a person right to have an opinion, even if it doesn't jive with the mainstream media. So we ride over and as we are pulling in a few LGBT (or what ever the heck they go by) flipped us off as we turned into the shopping center. Now this shopping center has 5-6 restaurants and other shopping in it, so we weren't sure why we got the finger, but waved as we went buy. As we were dismounting we started laughing about it. My Bomber obviously is a military themed bike and my helmet has been painted to match. The other guys all have some sort if stars and stripes so we figured it was that.....no biggie, so we amble into eat and get to talking. We look out and one of them has a spray can and is walking towards our bikes. We were done, so we head them of at the pass. Now, I'm not quite sure why they felt the need to walk down the valley of the shadow of death, but hey when you walk up to a group of bikes, ridden by a bunch of retired LEO's (all packing) and 2 of us have military special forces training, you going to get your ass whipped. It was then we saw 2 of their counterparts under a tree with a video camera, taping the whole thing..... So after a quiet discussion of family heritage, they decided it may be best to swat another hornets nest. As they walked up a few county patrol units arrived for lunch so they got into a car covered with rainbows and left......not sure if they wanted to make a statement or film their demise, but they got neither of them, came really close to the whoppin', but the good Lord decided it wasn't their day.....some people....
Blu
I guess it's Ok for them to live their life as they see fit and be left alone by you, but not Ok if you decide to live your life as you wish..if it doesn't agree with their point of view. So I ask, now who is intolerant???
Prof. O
I support LGBT but what these folks were about to do is dead wrong. Your response was very appropriate. I would hope the other response to this are the same. What I fear are political or inflammatory responses that have nothing to do with the fact these folks should have been locked up for illegal acts, not their orientation.
IndianTrue
Did they give you any kind of excuse for their action or motive? That behavior is wrong and cowardly by all standards, I'm sure glad you guy's were there to stop it before it started. I've known many of these people and have never heard anything negative about military, motorcycle riders, restaurants, chickens or friends hanging out for a nice ride. Could possibly be a U-tube attention Ho looking for material.

Who cares about their orientation? I like lesbians, we have a lot in common, being that we like the same thing. Furthermore, the more gay guys that are around just means I have less competition for the hot girls that I like.

Sam Hayne
I guess it's Ok for them to live their life as they see fit and be left alone by you, but not Ok if you decide to live your life as you wish..if it doesn't agree with their point of view. So I ask, now who is intolerant??? I think it has little to do with tolerance. If they were going to spray paint bikes because they chose to eat at a fast food place who's CEO opposes gay marriage, this is a crime. It is getting to a point in this country where a straight white Christian man is supposed to feel some kind shame for being who he is. In school, people are suing if you say God now, yet a Muslim child is ok to take their mat & pray in the middle of class....They are taking wrongs of the past & turning it all 180 in the opposite direction.
Bomber Rydr
We were chastised for supporting a country that allows the "public persecution" of their "community" and the "hate speech perpetuated by this establishment" the Attorney in the group explained that it was simple a matter of freedom of speech and the fact that we were all vets and all had some attachment to the legal community had a large part in them not getting an ass whipping.....we told them they are free to live the life they want, so are we, but touch a bike and female or not, it was going to get ugly (for them) really fast. The funny thing was that the very masculine females were getting ready to start the stuff, with a VERY feminine guy running his mouth and the other feminine males under the tree and when the badges came out, the ran like school kids.... The funny thing is that they chose us to mess with and not the little old ladies or other cars in the jam packed parking lot. Couldve been that we were in the shade and somewhat hidden from others, but seriously? You going to pick these vehicles out of 50 others to mess with...gay, lesbian, whatever, you can't fix stupid! Brock
when a private citizen cant state in a interview their beliefs without government officials mounting a witch hunt and endorsing a denial of their right to pursue happiness and success....that should be a crime. It is in my opinion a government endorsed hate crime against Mr. Cathy because he admitted to being a Christian and believing in the biblical definition of marriage. he DID NOT say he would not serve, hire or treat with respect anyone that disagrees or leads an alternative lifestyle...just his personal beliefs. if he was muslim or member of a minority group i do not think the govt and certain groups would be so eager to back them....can you imagine if a muslim owner of a food establishment stated he thought a womans place was at home, barefoot, pregnant, uneducated and clothed from head to toe with no rights or privileges given to men and that it was because he believed in fundamental views and followed sharia law..... and then a group started a boycott....mayors and governors threatened to deny any request for future business licenses or franchises in their jurisdiction...and protestors were going to bbq a pig on his front lawn of establishments worldwide knowing muslims think pork is filthy and do not touch it ...ever. how do you think that would go over? I see a huge double standard here all for political purposes...and if I was mr cathy I would be preparing lawsuits against Rahm Emanual and others for the impact their personal beliefs are making on his business and for prosecuting him for his beliefs. as for the dykes....you were more lenient that I would have been.
Bomber Rydr
Brock, I couldn't agree more! And believe me, the restraint was walking a very, very fine line. Had the gotten any closer or actually touch one the bikes in ANY way, I'm sure the story would've had a different ending. (You know most PJ's wont back down from ANY opportunity for a good ole honest brawl.) belive me, if the would have actually touched a bike we'd have been all over them like a spider monkey jacked up on Mtn Dew. The issue started simply because of the appearant intent to cause damage and/or harm to our bikes. It was the statements they made that turned into a political discussion. We simply believe that the restaurant and it's CEO were being treated in the manner you've adequately described. unfortunately, it is not illegal to carry a can of spray paint and Carb cleaner through a parking lot. It seemed they were intent on making it about hate and discrimination AND making a video to prove their point. May have been divine intervention that they chose us instead of someone else......and none of us had been drinking we also were sure to point out that all (but one)of us were combat vets and had friends that died for their right to live the lifestyle they've chosen. Dr. Mark
We live in America, which gives both the CEO of Chik-Fil-A, and the LGBT protesters the right to voice their opinions, and that is as it should be... however, to paraphrase Robert Heinlein, your rights end where the other fellow's property line/nose starts. They have the right to protest, just as you have the right to support Chik-Fil-A...that does NOT give them the right to vandalize someone else's property. That is hooliganism, not freedom. One of my close, immediate family members is gay. He did not choose to be gay, and in fact, being gay in the (very) deep south means that his life has been a living hell. I have had discussions with him about Chik-Fil-A, and he's disheartened by their actions, but says he supports their right to their opinion because that's what made our country great. OF course he also supports the right to protest by the LGBT community...but not to the point of violating someone else's rights to make a point. This is called 'mature'. I am proud that he is my son.
hasbin
I commend you on your restraint, Had it been me I think the "fem-boy" would have had a spray can up his ass, scratch that, he prolly would have enjoyed that. That said I have lost a close cousin to AIDS, yes he was GAY, I also have another relative who is lesbian, yes I crack jokes about gay's. I had a riding buddy get fired from one of the large beer company's because he said beer delivery "where do you want it front or rear? The owner of the establishment threw a hissy-fit & got him fired I don't care who or what a person decides to wrap their lips around, just keep away from my scoot or one of us goes to the hospital & the other goes to jail...
Bomber Rydr
Our trip was not a judgement of gay, lesbian or otherwise. It was simply about supporting the right of personal choice and opinion. a freedom given to all, but applied quite differently in this circumstance. How people live their life is a freedom enjoyed in this country. That is what we were in support of. (1 of our group has a LBGT child as well and he is very close to that child as well. A point made to this group as well) Trying to vandalize someone's property is not the answer. It seems people have lost the ability to discuss things in a reasonable, tolerant manner. Brock
I have had discussions with him about Chik-Fil-A, and he's disheartened by their actions, Mark...how can he be disheartened by the guys actions (Mr. Cathy)...he did nothing but say he was a Christian and believed in the biblical view on marriage as being between man and woman? He did not discriminate against customers, employees, or anyone or do any action...he responded to a question. period. just because he does not agree does not mean he took negative action against the gay and queer community. that is ridiculous. How is his personal belief different than anyone elses personal belief...not like he has anti gay ads in his establishments or has a bible on every table in the place. I bet most of America did not know he was a conservative christian until this flap and loved his service, his food, and his business model. Hell...you ask ANYONE before this which fast food restaraunt gives you the BEST FOOD and the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE where you are treated with respect and where you feel like they WANT YOUR BUSINESS. It has to be Chick Filet.

Micmac
I don't care where you park your dick at night, and that is the complete truth. I recently voted in favor of gay marrige here in North Carolina, if they tell gays what they can do in their home, I am next. That being said, no one has a right to touch my property w/o my permission.

But these kind of childish actions don't do anything but give their cause a bad name. Why are you going to break the law and vandalize someone else's property when you are preaching for the world to support you? FAIL. I swear NO ONE has fucking common sense today! Dr. Mark
Mark...how can he be disheartened by the guys actions (Mr. Cathy) "Disheartened: sad, downcast." Pretty simple, really. He's sad because he thinks that when important people with a high profile, who command a great deal of respect, come out against the wish of people like him to had something approaching a 'normal' life, it gives the haters more ammunition. He said: "Dad, God made me this way.I sure didn't ask for it. I guess he had a reason, but I can't believe he'd want me to be miserable for the rest of my life, and that he'd deny me the chance for a normal life. What sort of loving God would that be?" He's a great kid. Smart, too. He would have gotten in those dipshits faces that were going to vandalize Bomber's bike. Disrespect gets you nowhere. He may not have gotten his sexual orientation from me, but I would like to think he got decent values.

Respect also involves understanding that some people DO have religious, cultural and other deep rooted beliefs that AREN"T because of hate. It is what they believe. Has nothing to do with gays or gay marriage at the root of it. It is about freedom of speech and freedom of religion. Now that the whole world knows what the owner of Chic-Fil-A believes, they can make their own informed decision as to whether to do business with him or not. But to deny him the right to do business because of his beliefs or to try to harass his customers in any way is wrong and illegal.
Blu
Has anyone noticed, not one hateful gay-bashing comment from anyone If the protesters really know who they where dealing with they would have washed Bomber Rydr's bike, not tried to vandelize it.
