are you okay? damn!

Bruised, scraped, and swollen, but alive and walking (limping).

I guess I'm a tough old bird, but I don't recommend it for just the thrills of it. I am in my 60's and have just made the decision that I do not ever want to go down like that again. I don't remember hurting like this in my 20's when I went down!

I am waiting to see if they total the bike or not to decide what to get next.

BMW K1600GTL ???

The fact that you are able to let your friends know you are OK is a very good sign and even a better sign is you are thinking of the next bike to put in the stall. Glad you are doing pretty good and don't feel bad your not the first one trying to get away from a Harley.

Glad your OK & no bones broken. Does take longer to heal now, don't it?

What impulse or observation made you elect to eject & ghostride at 55mph?

Remember the Carnie's words, "Please remain seated until the ride comes to a halt."

Glad your OK, I always said, ejecting off of one of these things ain't what it's cracked-up to be. Pure vitamin E oil works wonders on road-rash... Not that I would know or anything

This has been my regimen for healing up from this type of injury.

FlexaMin Triple Strength for bone & joint nourishment.

Blu-Emu for bruises. Bailial Horse linament for deep knotted bruises.

Bayer Aspirin to help control blood clotting. The accident was bad enuff no need to stroke out on top of it all.

Helps to visit the hot tub as often as possible.

Your millage may vary...you may need to find your own elixers that work for you.

Can't abide oxys, vikes or the likes of perca~settes or dans.

Still working the Nuke gig?

Road construction had left about a 4 inch lip between the lanes that I didn't see when I tried to change lanes to pass. Impossible to see at 4:30 in the morning. More like a curb than a lip. Bang, I went down.

I keep replaying it through my mind, but it starts breaking up after I said to myself " this is going to hurt". After that, I'm sitting in the middle of the road.

What kind of armor plate were you wearing?

Normal 1/2 helmet, thin leather gloves, jeans, light denim jacket, and tennis shoes! Lost one of my shoes during my shenanigans break dancing on the road, bruised the crap out of that foot.

RCH. Hope you recover asap. When in pain [for big people] to help sleep: One or two 20mg valium together with 750mg vicodin from an MD perscription.

In final I say screw the body armor. Gonna go with three wheel [side hack] before I hit 65 yrs. Course, in yer case 3 wheels might not have helped. Not gonna throw out my body armor so fast either.

they do that shit here too RCH......going up to barn ride one time..loaded down on I-77 the same shit.....4-6 inch lip on one lane...and happens to be the lane I need to get into to exit the highway for my turn. I ended up going way left and having to enter lane at 45* angle to make it...it was hairy as fuck. Someone is going to die one day with that bullshit....

Damn, that hurts! Heal quick.

There's that damn lane lip all along I-95, Cocoa to Titusville, Fl. I noticed it yesterday in our car, and wondered why no warning signs were posted. They've been paving at night.

A few years back, an older couple on a Gold Wing hit that "lip" and were killed, back up in Illinois. Their estate sued the shit out of everyone for no signs being posted. Never heard how it came out.
