Any Up Date On Doc Mark ??????

Recommended Posts

Hey bro. Just got back from the hospital.

I am a little loopy right now and it's hard to type with only one hand.

We went for a great ride today, was gorgeous and we had been on a super riding road, and were headed back to Indian Point.

There was a beater car we had been following for about four or five miles, that was belching smoke, and I really have no idea exactly what happened.

They stopped in front of us to turn left....I saw the turn signal come on, but I did not see the brake lights come on...and neither did any of the other riders.

By the time I realized they had come to a complete stop, I had covered another 50 yards...and it was too late.

They told me the highway patrolman said the car's brake lights DID work, so I have no idea WTF.

Either I just didn't see them, or I lost them in the setting sun, or all the smoke, or they work intermittently. Don't really matter, I guess.

I tried to stop and when I saw I was going to hit them, I laid it down. After that, I don't really remember a lot.

Apparently it was pretty spectacular, though.

Micmac was right behind me, and said I went under the car, bounced off, and then went airborne.

They tell me I cartwheeled for about 50 yards. They also tell me I would probably be dead if I hadn't been wearing a helmet, because my head bounced off the concrete a few times.

The worst part was that MG was following us in the truck and saw the whole thing.

It took almost 30 minutes for the ambulance to get there, and I will be forever grateful for my brothers and sisters who were there for MG and I tonight.

We just spent nearly 6 hours at Skaggs Medical Center in Branson, and they treated us great.

They were worried about my head, and my spleen, but it looks like I am a damn walking (barely) miracle.

I have a concussion, and a broken finger, and the most spectacular road rash you have ever seen.

I look like someone attacked me with a belt sander.

I have third degree burns on my knees that will probably need skin grafts.

All things considered....I'll take it. In a fucking heartbeat.

I am alive. I have injuries, but nothing life threatening, Thank God.

I have to say, I can't tell you how much it means to me...and to MG....how awesome the support from our Indian brothers and sisters has been tonight.

I love y'all, brothers and sisters.

Holy Shit! Hate to hear about anyone getting hurt, glad to hear you're doing OK. My advise to you, drink heavily during the rest of the rally.

You all be safe and have fun

There is a certain danger when we ride and in spite of that, we do what we love without reservation. Usually...

When you see someone you know and adore, put one down right in front of you, things have a unique perspective and a newfound lesson. I saw my/our dear friend flying through the air doing cartwheels with real poor form today. I saw 'our' friend laying in the ditch worrying about his pants getting cut off and his junk hanging out. It was our friend who's beautiful wife was so unfortuniate to see the whole deal unfold right in front of her. I got to hold our friends hand for a long time today. I loved it. I hated it...

From deep in my heart, today really sucked! From deep in my heart, today was a day that I also learned a lot about a lot of people. Caring and compassion is real and live and I experienced it today, many times.

Thank you Mark for being in my life. Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for still being here for us to enjoy and learn from. Most of all, Thank you for still being here for MG, your work here is not done...

Holy Cow! I'm very glad to hear you're okay Dr. Mark - and I raise a cold one to all who are there as family. It must have been horrific to see unfold... wow... God speed in your recovery.

So glad to hear you are OK. It does sound like it is an unfortunate set of circumstances that caused the accident but that is past. I'll be praying for a speedy recovery for you and praying for MG for seeing the love of her life in a position she never dreamed of. The bike can be replaced, you cannot.

To a rapid recovery and the blessing of BOTH parents bringing that new life into the world.

Mark..... Thank god you will be OK and are in good hands. Best thing I could get on my birthday is the news that you survived the wreck and will be fine! Sorry we could not be there this year to offer our support, but think all our brothers and sisters at branson are doing a great job. Denise will just spoil you even more with her nursing skills.... You are both in our prayers . PhilnKaren

I am here to tell you that boy is lucky as a dog with two dicks. Thank God he got away with as little damage as he did. And I use that term lightly, because I know he is hurting for certain. It was sickening to witness, and I know much more so to endure. Mark you have lived a good life and the guy pulling the strings upstairs acknowledged that yesterday my friend. I will NEVER ride without a helmet again. Marks saved his bacon.

Really feeling it this morning.

Real hard to think straight and head's full of cotton balls or something. Concussion's a lot worse than I thought.

Very slow and stupid feeling right now.

Cannot tell you how supportive everyone's been. I love you guys.

very strange about the tail lights.

what kind of car was it? was it a suped up kinda car?

its very common around my area for us.... ahem.... I mean "others" with performance cars to have a simple inline toggle switch to interupt the brake pedal light switch.

obviously very very stupid and dangerous for many reasons other than forgetting to switch it back on.

just something to maybe check into.
