How Many Of You Fine Folks

Recommended Posts

So I'm just curious to know how many people have children under 26 years of age that are covered by your medical insurance. I have three, two in college and one who is not but has worked the same job for 3 years. I have never asked our friends this question before but yesterdays report with the discussions regarding the Obama care has me realizing this might all come to an end. I must say it is quite comforting to know your children have insurance just in case something bad happens.

I would NEVER expect to have Obama or especially any government agency pay my children's medical expenses....

I have 3 under the age 26....

WTF? I thought we outlawed Political Bullshit in here....

Well it is not the government covering my childrens medical it is my insurance that covers them. I wasnt asking for a political opinion. With the daily political talk on this forum do you really think it is fair to ask me that question?

You are asking the wrong place. As you can see, if there is a hint that something the current administration has done that might be good, politics are banned. Yet the shout box is full of Anti Obama slurs.

Do you think anyone here is going to have any idea what is really in the health care law ??? The depth of knowledge is Fox news and Rush Limbaugh.

I try to stay non- political, but I can answer your question.

If Obamacare is struck down, INSURANCE companies will not be forced to insure your 21- 26 yr old children.

both of mine are under 26....oldest is married with kid and has her own insurance. youngest is in school part time and working rest of time and not on my insurance...she has her own with what she thinks she can afford given her circumstances in school and job.

way i was raised you determine your priorities and spend accordingly...house, food, utilities, cars, insurance....... if it was a couple hundred dollars a month for me to pay what I needed when I was in my 20s...then I kept my ass at home instead of burning up the bars.....didnt have cell phone, cable television, xbox or a fancy car.....and I only spent what I could afford and not before I took care of the necassities. cell phones, cable and nice cars are not needed to survive in this world. I see it all the time...dilapidated shack or trailer.....or low quality apartment but driving a Range Rover...covered with gold jewelry, Iphone, and all the luxary items the world has to offer....but kids are running around without shoes and clean clothes while mother pays $600 to get hair and nails done every month.

fuck them....if they dont care to set the priority for their family or selves...why should I do it for them.

get rid of the frivolous lawsuits against doctors and hospitals for TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT thing....but being sued because of an innocent mistake or not being miracle workers....put a cap on lawsuit payouts so they are not driven by the skill and greed of their attorney's....reduce the waiting period for new drugs in this country before they are tested and made available to public.....and stop giving free health care mostly through emergency rooms to every person that shows up because they dont want to buy aspirin or cough medicine at the drug store but will use their DB card to buy cigarettes and junk food. When you have a family member dying of cancer or another that has stroke symptoms and you go to emergency room for a possible actual ...wait for it...EMERGENCY...and you have to sit there for 2-3 hours to be seen as blood comes out of your orifices...or you are trying to control the pain on a broken limb.......and see person after person going in for simple colds, sprains, superficial cuts, or allergies to pollen.....it is ridiculous. And then the same woman that sprained her ankle at gym and went before your dying father in law goes outside and while you are getting fresh air she gets into a Jaguar in handicapped parking still wearing her Zoomba outfit complete with branding on the two sizes too small top and bottoms. You know we have a community of people that expect and DEMAND handouts......pitiful.

The question asked was relating to the requirement that all commercial medical insurance plans cover children to age 26. Even if the Supreme court of congress strikes down obama care, this will likely remain. Throwing kds off insurance is not going to make anyone look good.

More important point, Obamacare is a perfect failiure of it's main objective, lowering cost. It does nothing to save mone. To be fair I haven't heard much of anything from anybody with any sensible solutions.

Have (2) in college, One will graduate in May & already has a good paying job when the ink on the paper is dry. the other is a Soph & has a part time job which pays her well. I don't think I need to worry about Ins. for either of them. Myself & wife are a different story after I retire... :banghead: :banghead:

Yeah at the age of 18 I joined the Teamsters in Alaska so it wasn't an issue for me but for my two children in college their part time job's don't even allow them to pay into an insurance plan so being able to cover them with my medical insurance has been a big worry off of my mind. I wasn't trying to start any political wars with this, tell you the truth I feel it doesn't matter who gets voted in for next pres. were still screwed for many years to come. The president is only a small part of the problems we face currently and it will be the same next year at this time no matter who is in there.

Hey Jeff, I'm not sure I'm showing my colors one way or the other..and when our Indian Family gets together...I don't recall a single Political situation ever being a problem.....BUT........

3 screaming liberals got this place to go non-political last year, am I the only one who recalls that? Somebody yanked the Political thread off the boards.....this stuff should have it's own place and I won't go there unless I want to. The shout box I gotta get past to log in here and conduct my agenda!

FYI.....if ya look at that pic I posted...there is an Iron Indian Rider in it...and it ain't me...

And to think this did not start out as a political to begin with yet here it is being turned in to one. I am not guiltless when it comes to this subject on this forum but I do it way less than some and that does not make it right. Democrats versus Republicans who is better? Neither are better than your dog and that's the truth. So back to Indian Motorcycles which weirdly enough are also more reliable than any politician, what does that tell ya. Ride safe and have fun doing it.

AMEN!!!

I have 3 under 26. 2 in their early 20's with college degrees and decent jobs with benefits standing on their own 2 feet. HOO-RAH. My 15 year old is another story :) but I will cut him some slack for now. I deal with the ABUSE of our healthcare system every freakin' day. More insured = more problems.......that's not why our health system is broken people! It didn't break over night and won't be fixed with ONE SINGLE PIECE of this legislation.......

Youngest is 25, oldest is 29. Both are married and on their own. In other words, not my problem any more.

My oldest is working toward her Masters degree, is a home owner, and also holds down a job and looks after her son in the evenings. My youngest has a daughter on the way.

The question asked was relating to the requirement that all commercial medical insurance plans cover children to age 26. Even if the Supreme court of congress strikes down obama care, this will likely remain. Throwing kds off insurance is not going to make anyone look good.

The people who don't look good are these young people who can't or won't buy insurance.

When I was 26 I was married and owned my own home.. and I certainly was not raised with a silver spoon, quite the contrary. Both my parents spent a good portion of my childhood in prison while I was in foster care being told I wasn't worth spit and would never be worth a damn.

The sense of entitlement in this younger generation is frigging incredible. Insurance is not a right or something you are owed by the rest of society. I'm tired of paying for all the illegals and the lazy ones that won't get off their asses and WORK. Insurance is something you need, so YOU pay for it.

This country is going to hell in a hand basket.

ETA. damned whipper-snappers.

Ok, certainly I am myself to blame..

But I am shocked to see the politics have been censored from this site? Do I understand correctly?

I mean, I guess I have been too busy defending our constitution to spend enough time on the board to see that somehow our greatest first amendment privilege has been curtailed; on what I have always considered a bastion of free speech and opinion.

I used to come HERE FIRST for questions on pertinent political current events.

What the Hell is going on?

politics are not being censored....but they were going to far and ONE POST was locked....nothing else has been locked since to my knowledge. Politics and religion always get people riled up.....it never (usually never) stays sensible. Some want to talk politics as long as their view is heard but when the other side escalates....they get feelings hurt and stop coming here or complain. Yes everyone was right to say what they want...NO you do not have a right to not be offended by someone elses words.

there has been no heavy handed banning and no threads being blocked/locked/deleted to my knowledge other than the one thread that was locked months ago. Otherwise things have gone as normal.

Carnaval (Mardi Gras) Parade in Germany

Karnival or Fasching (Mardi Gras in the cold) Parade in Germany

A picture is worth a thousand words… Well here are seven.

These floats from last year were part of the annual Carnival Parade inGermany, watched by an estimated 3 million people in 3 German cities including Dusseldorf.

With our controlled press, it is interesting to see that German citizens seem to know more about the U.S. political system and environment than the majority of citizens on the streets of America … No topics are off limit.

So in reality, socialistic Europe appears to me less politically correct and more open to speaking out than the supposed land of the free… so when did that happen? (They are also a bit less inhibited

One is by the sword. The other is by debt.

OOk, I double checked.. no politics section.

Feels like a punch in my patriotism.

yes it was closed...got very problematic in there with some harsh words. If you used the VIEW NEW CONTENT it pulls from all sections not just the regular ones. That was the case there... People still make political comments...the hate by some is what ruined it.

the section and threads are not deleted though...just hidden. It is all in the archives if one day is brought back....nothing is ever erased just removed from viewing.

Sorry didnt realise you classed this as political. IF someone has a problem with a thread they should report it. The only time we step in is when people start behaving like asshats and calling each other nasty shit and threatining each other. You can talk about what you want we just are trying to cut out the crap of people getting in each other faces over stupid shit. Hope this clears stuff up.
