Here's What America Thinks Of Those Who Gave All

Recommended Posts

Not a political post, just an article this 'ol trooper finds very disturbing. Nothing but the finest for our folks in uniform. I think whoever is responsble for this should be executed by firing squad.

hell, this on top of hearing the administration is calling the massacre at Ft Hood....."WORKPLACE VIOLENCE"....it was fucking terrorism from a radical islamist in the military.

Disgraceful, nothing honorable about final resting place being a garbage dump......everyone that knew about this should be court martialed. It is about lazyness, money, and everyone trying to be PC and scared to call a spade a spade and a crook a crook.

If more people would have spoken up and then if Commanders would have done the right thing rather than worrying about their next promotion.......then the fucker in Texas would have been shit canned from Army years ago and these military heroes would have been laid to rest in a setting befitting a hero rather than a pig. Even if it is to spread them across a pasture on a Veterans Memorial Garden it is better than this.

Cremate me and spread my ashes in the marshes of the Lowcountry........if I am put in a dump, flushed down toilet, or end up in episode of Storage Wars...I will haunt your fucking ass!

This is complete total F_U_C_K_I_N_G BULLSHIT___I urge anyone reading this to contact their Congressman--except the Queer ones ---U know who they are---and DEMAND that they investigate then do something to notify the kin of those Fallen HERO'S!!! Then fry the SOBS responsible ---they should put up memorial with all the names of them that are enshrined there and close that dump forever.

Reserve a special Burial spot next to the cesspool for them that were responsible. No requirement for them to be dead first.

The one that should be held accountable is our dear old commander in chief....you know the guy who holds his left hand over his chest. I spent nearly 6 years in para rescue in the USAF. This is a complete disgrace and says a lot about the pukes in DC......shitheads!!!

I agree. Since it happened between 2004 and 2008, I say we get that bastard G.W Bush.

I agree.........

Just maybe not on which CinC was responsible......

The following is copied from the article in Pete's post:

The problems also transpired at a time when the mortuary was shielded from public scrutiny. News coverage of the return of fallen troops to Dover was banned by President George H.W. Bush in 1991 before the first Persian Gulf War. The ban remained until April 2009, when the Obama administration lifted it.

The Air Force said it first cremated the remains and then included those ashes in larger loads of mortuary medical waste that were burned in an incinerator and taken to a landfill. Incinerating medical waste is a common disposal practice but including cremated human ashes is not, according to funeral home directors, regulators and waste haulers.

Air Force officials said they do not know when the landfill disposals began. They said their first record of it is Feb. 23, 2004. The mortuary database became operational in late 2003.

The Air Force said mortuary leaders decided to end the practice in May 2008 because “there was a better way to do it,” Jones said. The military now cremates unclaimed and unidentified body parts and buries the ashes at sea.

Jones said the Air Force did not need to inform relatives of troops whose remains ended up in the landfill because they had already signed forms stipulating that they did not wish to be notified if additional remains were identified. The forms authorized the military to make “appropriate disposition” of those subsequent remains.

Asked if the landfill was a dignified final resting place, Jones replied: “The way we’re doing it today is much better.”

This is a revolting practice from the undertakers to the military at Dover on up to the Congress & President ~ all of them had a hand in this.

This is not what "America thinks of those who gave all" ~ rather it is an example of crass bureaucratic government expediency with no thought for the consequences or responsibility taken for honest fear of retribution & public humiliation. Nothing eats away at a Republic more fiercely than bureaucracy with no accountability. It does not matter which Party is in control because where there are problems we usually find the self-entitled anonymous bureaucrats shielded by their wads of red tape bullshit.

Constructing a modern day Unknown Soldier Memorial for the internment of 'unidentifiable remains' would impart much more HONOR & REMEMBERANCE & provide a much better final resting place for the ashes than the present burials at sea.

Again, I did not want this to be a finger pointing political post on my part. It looks like blame aplenty to go around. I took to heart Dr. Mark's post about that stuff. I don't care who is responsible, but "We the People" need to be really pissed off about this. This is a crying fucking shame. I called my Congressmen Howard Coble's office today and told them what I thought about it. This is a really sad day for America. Those poor service members families. How can we expect our youth to enlist when they could end up in a fucking garbage dump for eternity?

Dosen't suprise me at all. Very disturbing and completely disgraceful.... And I'm being nice. Patriotism comes and goes in this country. During and after Vietnam, for exaple, patriotism was pretty much non-exsistent. The returning solders were shunned in every way. However, today, vets are more welcomed home, like they were during WWII and Korea.

Someone should have their head on the chopping block over this, that for sure!

There's no good that could come from this disgrace, but the f'ing King George County landfill should be closed immediately and a fitting memorial should be put up while all of this is sorted out.

Loved every minute of it! (except carrying that damn phone pole around everywhere for weeks) I was assigned to a CCT team for 3 years! We had a lot of fun, but when it hit the fan, no other group of guys I'd rather be with! Spent the last part of active duty with Spec Ops in Florida.........if I knew I was going to live this long, I'd taken better care of my body......
