Clan Chief
Looking for a nice box to pull the trailer queen in-- 7X14 enclosed --- dual axle. Looking at : Pro-line $3000.00 for V-nose white . Homesteader $3500.00 flat nose Homesteader Patriot Vnose $4000.00 V nose I have been reading reviews on V-nose VS flat nose. Some people seem to think the Vnose provides more MPG, but dont have any real test data. Some seem fairly knowledgeable about aerodynamics seem to think it doesnt make any difference. Some seem to think the Bubble front makes a big difference as it reduces the air gap between your pull vehicle and trailer-- Ideas?? XV62
I got a 20 footer and that's inside, 8.5' wide, low profile, hauls four bikes or two trikes, or two w/sidecars, or two with a bunch of gear. Low mileage and I think the low profile behind a truck is as efficient as the V or bubble nosed. Real purty too, black and chrome and stainless, spare tire, buncha straps, rear view tv camera........... old02chief
Clan Chief I have 2002 Featherlite tandem axel with a V nose all aluminum,You can't hardly tell you have it hooked on. Fold down ramp side door 6'X 12' 15' to the front of the v nose in side. Love it. I think I paid $4100.00 for it new in 02. Cal
secinv
This is a good subject, as I have been thinking of getting a trailer for my scoot, as well.
Scalper38
My plan is also for a 7' x 14' V-nose. Not going with the low profile cuz I manage to hit my head on everything and will just deal with the lower mileage. I'm glad you posted the links cuz those are the best prices I've seen and I've been looking for a couple years now.

THey also sell in GA, where everything is cheaper--- check them on ebay. The two Homesteaders are Beckley and Princeton. I like the Low Rider but it costs more, and is not as versatile as you say. If I was in GA, I would have this one :Ebay trailer Edited March 15, 2011 by Clan Chief

Just my opinion. Cal

Cal I agree w you---- but most trailers with the torsion axles are up in the 5K or more range. And that featherlite will be even more. The 2 axles on my trailer are 3500# axles with Elec. brakes on both. They don't make a trailer with springs. There axles start at 2000# 2200 3500 4800 5200 6500 7000 8000#.They make a little open motorcycle trailer with a 2000# torsion axle. I don't have a lot of miles on mine maby 20,000 mi. I have had no problem at all with it. Featherlite Cal

The ones I keep looking at have the interior covered as well, no exposed plywood so that's probably why the price is lower too. Personally I want a white so all the Indian decals will POP!!! Just cause you gots lots of rings dont mean you can fit 2 chiefs in there. 2 of em just about take up a 7' box--- I know yours is 8 foot. And just because you only got one, dont mean you never want to haul 2.
