Micmac
I don't know about the rest of you but if it keeps going up 25-30 cents a week until Branson, it may become too expensive for me to justify the expenditure. I hope this shit stops soon. I'm estimating it could be north of $4.50 by then.

XV62
Don't let the terrorists win If by terrorists you mean the big money futures traders, then somebody oughta just shoot them, or at least make it illegal to buy and resell the same tanker of oil eight times. Libya's oil production is less than 5% of the total. The loss of Libyan oil is not the cause of the sudden increase in gas prices.
Doc Loco
Don't let the terrorists win Many countries would love to have $5/gallon premium gas prices like back in the 'good old days'...of course I remember .10 cent and .08 cent per gallon gas war prices of the 1950s... 30 cent per gallon prices in the 60s... Thought it sacriledge with the Y2K $2/ gallon prices...and so on. When fuel prices rise, so does the price of any product that needs delivery. When governments need to find new money, taxations follow and there goes the cost of living index into inflation and unafforability. Prioritize - we only have so many dollars to spend in a year. Do you think fuel prices will go down when we excelerate oil production in the US? I don't think so ... everyone is charging and getting the big bux these days. Business & Government just seem to be about wasting resources & profits. In the mean time fuel prices skyrocket and our infrastructure crumbles. DienCaiDau
It's all really simple... The reason for high gas prices is greed...

Hell Pete....$4.50/gal x 5 gal tank = $22.5 each fill up....at 50 mpg x 5 gal tank = 250 miles a tank...I estimate you live somewhere between 900 and 1000 miles from Branson so....at 1000 miles and 250 miles per tank it would take 4 tanks at $22.50 each = $90.00 each way...much cheaper than flying or driving for that matter...... secinv
The gas prices suck and should be substantially lower. It really is horrible all around, as it effects the economy in a major way, not to mention the American people.

No, can't do that, maybe I won't let the wife eat!
Micmac
I didn't think so. Kevin is right, three years ago it was high, back then I wasn't on a fixed income. I will still most likely be there. This gas shit has got to stop, it went up 13 cents today.
badndn
When we stop buying, it will go down. We ain't close to that point yet. Not in the vicinity of close. We are spoiled, lazy and rich. (compared to most) Why would you sell gas for 1.00 a gallon when we will pay 7.00....or more?
cochise71
IT IS SIMPLY GREED AND GREED ALONE.THEY WILL USE LIBYA AS AN EXCUSE TO RAISE THE PRICE OF FUEL EVENTHOUGH LIBYA PRODUCES LESS THAN 3% OF THE WORLDS OIL SUPPLY.THEY RAISE THE PRICE WHENEVER THEY WANT OUT OF THEIR OWN GREEDINESS AND THEY KNOW THEY HAVE US BY THE BALLS. Satdiver
Yup, fuel prices will keep me from going. It is roughly 14,456 miles round trip for me from Kabul, Afghanistan. You guys have fun, maybe I can make it next year.
PPScoutrider
This group My linkneeds to do there job, along with Obama keeping one of his election platform promises--stop or limit oil/gas speculation. Oil production and reserves are at an all time high in the USA yet we get higher gas prices. Edited March 10, 2011 by PPScoutrider
