CKelly
IIRA members, please log into the IIRA web site and take a look at my lengthy topic about our poor towing vendor!!!!!!!! You did right,it belongs on the members forum. I've use it twice without any problems. Maybe it was just the tow company. They only do 30 miles. ejburroughs
Not entirely sure, I believe the cam trigger went bad again. And no, I have not gotten the stock one rebuilt be Vagabond yet, my own fault!!!!

And no, I have not gotten the stock one rebuilt be Vagabond yet, my own fault!!!! Well if you do not have any spark then it can be either your trigger, coil, or ignition model. I travel with spares and can loan them to you so that you can quickly figure out if any of those components are causing the problem. I'll be over at Tysons either today or tomorrow. (I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting on Mrs. Vint229 to give me my instructions for the day. ) Or if you like I can bring them over and we can go through the swaps fairly quickly and isolate the problem within 15-20 minutes. Hit me up on the cell phone (240-506-5544). Edited February 19, 2011 by Vintage229

ejburroughs
ok, time for my semi regular eating of crow This morning, with a more well rested and not so frustrated head I go out and start running through the basics......key: on, fuel petcock: on reserve (first thing I tried when it died on me at 70 mph in the middle lane of I-95), just for grins I take off both gas caps: bone dry.....WTF?!!!!! Start looking around some more and I am starting to think that the reserve tube is not on inside the tank on the petcock. Apparently there is a tube that can be removed in case one has a custom tank that is not deep enough for the standard fuel pick up with reserve tube......The petcock I have is made by Golan....nice piece of work.... ok, fire away, I can take it, I have broad shoulders and plenty of room for the harassing I deserve, come on, bring it on..... ejburroughs
Put gas in it this morning and rode it to the gas station, filled it up, it appears to be running fine, but can not say for sure until I ride it enough to get it good and hot to see if the cam trigger does actually fail...... any thoughts on this theory? Does the cam trigger tend to only fail after it is hot? The Chief ran great all day, 200 miles, with no issues......

That will swing on a pivot, kinda like a hinge. Push that down towards the ground with your foot until its all the way out. Then you can lean the bike over and let it rest on that and it will keep the bike upright when your not on it.

Really? uhhhhh and all this time I would try and find a wall to park next to so I can lean it against something!!!!!!!! On the other hand, IS THAT THE BEST YOU GOT? THAT WAS WEAK, COME ON, BRING IT ON YOU BIG SISSY! JACKWAGON!

Foolish me... one of my failures I thought it might be the cam trigger.... you have no idea how bad is sucks to to remove the cam trigger... hit the button.. and no spin.... but then.... I'm the only one this has happened too right????

EJ, I have had the same trigger on the scoot for the last 90K+ The problem is the first generation triggers & One can't tell 1st from 2nd gen. I believe once you have a 2nd gen. trigger you are good-2-go... Until it fails And on that other thing, I got nothing, Your not the first......
