State Of Arizona Files Suit Against Obama Administration

Recommended Posts

The MainStraem Media is having a hard time with the spin on this...The Supreme Court will have a hard time ruling on this flagrant violation of the US Constitution... The Obama Administration will struggle with this issue when facts become known through litigation brief and arguments.

It is clearcut and simple the US Constitution once again has been violated by those in office who are oathbreakers and have no further right to hold the offices to which they were elected.

Arizona is counter-suing the US government, charging that Washington has failed to protect it from an invasion of illegal immigrants and related violent crime, its governor has said.

The lawsuit, which seeks federal compensation, is in response to a federal lawsuit filed by President Barack Obama's administration last year challenging Arizona's enforcement of a new immigration law along the US-Mexican border.

"Our citizens have lived with this dark cloud for too long .. It's time for the federal government to do its job and secure the border," said Governor Jan Brewer, announcing the lawsuit outside the federal courthouse in Phoenix.

The lawsuit notably charges that the US federal government has failed to reimburse Arizona for more than $760 million in costs for incarcerating illegal immigrants.

"While control of the border is a federal responsibility, illegal aliens who successfully cross the border and commit crime in Arizona become an Arizona responsibility," said Attorney General Tom Horne.

Brewer said the boundary between Arizona and Mexico remains a dangerous place despite stepped-up enforcement along the nearly three thousand mile border by federal authorities.

She also cited the recent death of a US Border Patrol officer as evidence of illegal incursions across the border by criminal drug cartels. "Our border and immigration system are still broken," she said.

The lawsuit also seeks compensation from the federal government for the cost to the state of securing the border.

Brewer claimed fighting illegal immigration had cost the state more than a billion dollars, funds the state simply does not have while facing a serious budget crisis.

She noted that the legal action is being paid for with private funds and is not costing taxpayers. Horne said he expects the lawsuit to be settled in the US Supreme Court.

But other state officials challenged Brewer over the merits of another legal fight with the government.

"Filing a lawsuit won't solve our problems," said attorney Kyrsten Sinema, who serves in the Arizona state Senate. "It won't solve the immigration crisis all of us face in this country," Sinema said.

A throng of opponents were kept back by police, but jeered and shouted "We are not illegal" at the governor, who had to speak loudly to be heard over the demonstrators.

Five points of law - all violations of the US Constitution - are showcased in the lawsuit.

The millions of dollars in illegal immigrant caused costs are bankrupting most of the states not just Arizona alone...this is a huge part of the pattern of destruction being put upon us by the Idiots in control of our Nation's Management Corps of Politicians, Puppets and YesMen.

It's simple...illegals are illegal - they have no right to be here. Yet they are here and are draining our Nation's resources at a time of hardship and straining our already over burdened social programs...

ROUND 'Em UP & THROW THEM OUT!!! NOW!!! Before it's too late...

This Governor Jan Brewer has some balls and is doing the right thing. How many more American Citizens need to die, before this government does something. The US Government should put one Army Division on that border, as this is war.

In all cases Illegals now have the jobs that American legal Citizens used to have available to them - & we are talking millions of jobs.

We can end unemployment, rebuild the economy or at least put a huge dent in our unemployed numbers and watch our prosperity as a Nation surge to where it should be.

If the Feds were serious about job creation...It is clear they care not a whit about job creation and the trillions in stimulas monies are earmarked for pork and special interest piracy.

"You cannot convince me that if you paid a decent wage to American workers, that they would not take many of these jobs. Drywall hangers, for example, used to make $18, $20 an hour; now the going rate [is] $8 to $10 an hour. These are jobs that Americans cannot afford to work in because they cannot afford to live in sub-standard living conditions.

On the other hand, (illegally residing) people who have no interest in this country, [who] live [with] 15 adult males, unrelated, in a one-bedroom apartment ...[and] send most of their money back home – They are more than willing to take those jobs."

Harvard Professor George Borjas has reported that illegal aliens displaced American workers at a cost in excess of $133 billion dollars in 2005. Does that sound like a "victimless crime?" By any conceivable measure the answer has to be "NO!" especially if you are one of the displaced workers.

At any given time huge groups of illegals can be found and gathered up in most any city or large town in the US...if the will existed to enforce our laws.

Support Arizona in this struggle with Those Whose Interest Is Not with this Nation's Future Health & WellBeing.

It is completely inexcusable that there are areas (National Parks) within our own country that we taxpayers pay for that we are not allowed to access for public safety concerns because the feds would rather look the other way to allow these invaders to slither in. Have you seen the pictures of what the desert looks like in the border states? Rape trees and nothing but tons of trash, garbage. The feds should pay the states for having to clean up the mess we've been forced to deal with, not to mention all the other associated expenses.

I am so proud to be an Arizonan and I am so very thankful to have so many people in America giving us their support. We will never be able to do this alone so please know how important your support and help is to us.

@optionsupdate I'm betting it's the idiot open borders/illegal alien supporters chanting 'Si se puede!' They were at our capitol last Monday with their little children lined up sitting on the cold concrete in front of our senate building with signs and being coached to chant 'Si se pude!' to make a stand against our bills against birthright citizenship. As usual, they pimp their kids to try to get sympathy. They'll be back this Tuesday to do it again and we'll be there to.

Something just occurred to me. Last week AZ's SB1070 was in SCOTUS. When the Bill was first passed in AZ, it made headline news around the country. Now *ping*. Judge Bolton rejected the DOJ's challenge to the section of SB1070 that makes it a state offense to transport illegal aliens. To date, 6 of the 8 lawsuits filed against Arizona over the new law, have been dismissed. Also dismissed Chicanos Por La Causa , National Coalition of Latino Clergy & Christian Leaders, Phoenix Officers.

The liberal fascists hate Brewer because she's doing what the federal government won't: Try to protect citizens from gangbangers and drug cartels.

Illegal immigrants are just another reason we need to ELIMINATE INCOME TAX. Switch to a straight sales tax. 3% state, and 5% federal ought to cover it. That would be overall 7% compared to American average of +20%

OH, one caveat.... immigrants should pay 10% income tax for a period of ten years. ( yes, plus the 7% sales )

That Jan Brewer is a Great Governor and should head the INS, finally a person that ignores this politically correct non sense. I can't wait to finally see the current occupant of the white house disappear, the thought of this clown out rages me. I don't think he has ever said or done anything that I agree with. That is not good!!!

Unfortunately, AZ gov will have no chance at a run to the Whitehouse, as the mainstream liberal media will pummel her on anything they can get their hands on, whether true or not, and spin negatively anything she has done positive. But, things have to start somewhere.

For example, a South Dakota legislator instroduced a bill recently "requiring" all SD citizens to purchase a gun/firearm in a bold-faced rebuke against Obamacare/health insurance mandate. Sure the bill likely has no chance of passing, but attacking from all sorts of different angles is a good start.
