Vintageroger
It's going to snow in the south. Any where from 1 to 4 inches, heavens, the sky is going to fall! It has not snowed a flake and the talk is, SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN!

It has not snowed a flake and the talk is, SHUT EVERYTHING DOWN! Had a few 'White Outs' in the past week driving thru snow so thick you can't see the road trail...thick snow moving at you obscurring vision & setting up a hynotizing pattern of swirling flakes that tends to make you forget where you are and what you are doing like turnpike trance...then the front tire catches a rut and you realize you will freeze to death in that ditch over yonder...Be afraid!! Stay indoors!!!

BONMYI
Yupper, already talk of closing schools.. Folks down here are near panic, can't find no bread or milk, nor other items in the grocery stores.. It has snowed here twice already this winter.. Gets friggin crazy, it's a challenge to get around with the way these unskilled drivers are in snow conditions, most just give up, and abandon their vehicles en masse along the road, makes for some interesting driving, for sure.. Micmac
Snowed off on this morning, mor off than on. We were supposed to get 3 inches, I cancelled a trip Ms. Micmac and I had scheduled to Asheville, not cause I couldn't make it-but because of the fools on the road. injun46
Lots of hills and about zero snow removal plows. And, no one is ever in a big hurry down here.

Three inches is a normal drive into work many times a year up here. You all just talk as funny as you drive.

Take an ice cube and shave it with a wittlin' knife...kinda like the iceboxes before 'frostfree' got popular... Or get in the truck & keep head'n north! Paul, you're bound to run into some before April in NoDak territory...
firebird77clone
Last time it snowed in GA ( and I was there ) me and me best friend grabbed our scoots and went for a ride. I remember when he called up.. "we going for a ride?" " I would be pretty stupid to deliberately drive out in the snow on our bikes " "yep, I guess so. How long till you get over here?" So, we rode in to Columbus, to Hooters. Got a cool photo op of the Hooter girls around our bikes. We rode side-by-side in the tire ruts in the snow. My tire was bald to wires showing. Got home safe, so all's well that ends well.

Great story, if you were here today, you'd be able to repeat that event !! Be safe, Dave
Micmac
Hey Dave, thanks-it's finally started here about 15 minutes ago, grounds covered. Was snowing in Charlotte at 3:30 AM, don't know why it took so long to get 100 miles.

Stay indoors!!! You hit the nail on head with your description--you have to focus so as not to go into a tranz-like mode, expecially when it's coming down hard in the dark. Also, your other post about headin to Nodak and hitting snow at least until April is spot on. We have over 40 inches on the ground with more to come. I hoping like hell it's gone before the end of April, but each day is one more day closer to riding time, whenever that may end up being this year. Went to dealer/wrench garage over the weekend to check on status of Bomber/Bagger build AND to fill the tanks in the Scout with Premium fuel (don't want the tanks to dry-out) with Seafoam added (lubrication/-H20, started her up and ran it for a little while to get things circulated in the engine/fuel veins. If I accomplished nothing else, doing so at least got the blood in my veins circulating. Why do I live in NODAK again????
