Last Resort
Tue Oct 19, 2010 11:12am EDT WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A gunman fired shots at the Pentagon early on Tuesday but there were no injuries or significant damage, a Pentagon spokesman said. It was the first incident of its kind since a lone gunman shot and wounded two security officers near the Pentagon entrance in May, and was killed in the process. That led to an overhaul of security procedures. Tuesday's shots, which did not penetrate the building, appear to have been fired from somewhere around the Pentagon's South parking lot just before 5 a.m.. The Pentagon said it would provide more details at a briefing later on Tuesday. (Reporting by Phil Stewart, Editing by Sandra Maler)
