Micmac
My little brother was a bubble head back in the 70's & 60's and played hide and seek with these boys. I almost wish they was still the enemy instead of these bastards we got to seal with now. Look at it, the pride of the Soviet Navy, scrap. http://community.livejournal.com/ru_submarine/17486.html
Maldev
"Type 941 a shark IT Typhoon: the greatest boat in the world" is the first caption. The rest is a brief description of the boat, the mechanics, the computers, the crew compliment and how the ships were laid to rest by Gorbachev and the USA. Micmac
Thanks guys, I would never go in those things, my lil brother and any of y'all went in one are brave folks. He would be gone sometmes a year. I'd ask him where he'd been and he say. "I can't tell ya, but it was cold", I 'spect it was.
Satdiver
Very cool pictures, and that is one huge boat! I spent some time doing submarine lock in and lock outs, it's great when you do that off the coast of Hawaii or Guam, but the novelty wears off real quick when you are doing it in cold water. Thanks for the pics. Satdiver

uplander
Spent plenty of time under the ice on the real hunt for red October boat USS DALLAS. Was anything but fun! Your brother more likely tangled with the likes of Yankees or echos the Typhoons did not come out til much later! They were as quiet as anything we had. Tell ya what Kevin, you are one brave man and I mean that in sincere honesty. Give me a C-130 Herc to jump any day, or a Dope-on-a-rope from a Huey, or Shithook. You couldn't get me in one of them boats with a pistol stuck in my mouth . You ever see anyone goe nutz on one?
