Moon Killer
The origins of the "Sissy" Bar. Back in the day when all the rage was to bob your new Sport Scout which ment everything & anything that was not essential was removed. That included the start kicker. As push starting was slightly difficult because of no where for a hand hold, handles were added which was generally a bar loop over the rear fender. Then came evolution. Yeah, I wouldn't remove it but these guys were hardcore. Most of them thought jobs & life in general were taking a lot of time away from motorcycling. Maybe that part hasn't changed too much.
