Guest_ikonboard
Hopkins chases another speed record 17/05/2004 - 10:34:23 Before he was a big, important movie star, Anthony Hopkins starred as Donald Campbell in a TV film about the tragic attempt to beat the world water speed record on Lake Coniston in the Lake District. Now, he has agreed to play Burt Monro, a New Zealander who set the world land speed record in the 1970s after spending decades building a 1920 Indian motorcycle. Doc Loco
Burt Munro was one unbelievble man. this should be a great flick when it comes out we gotta see this. Hand casted heads&pistons 1920 37cuin. motor bumped up to 58cu." 1928 flywheel turned & sleeved to a 11/2" main journal.Cylinders turned from gas pipeline scrap. 69years old &190mph at Bonnevillesalt track--incredible New Zeelander. One man -one obssession-speed on an Indian-Born in 1899 he'd be 105 now if still on live. Good man and credit to us all who ride the First of America's V Twins.
