XV62
I've seen these bad boys on the discovery channel or one of those on the TV, but this instance was up close and personal. First time I ever cleared a new site for construction that the timber was worth logging off it. And this was a small set of tools. These things come larger. MeanGene
D5? That's a garden tractor, we let the gurlz run 'em LOL Bidding a job right now where to previous owner was a firewood guy- downed a bunch of big eucalyptus, and cut 'em up until he got to the big end, and gave up- about 5'-6' across. Gonna have to set 'em up on end and split 'em with a hammer on an excavator to small enough pieces to fit in the tub grinder- 45 of them. Might take a while. MeanGene
Yep, I learned on an old D6 with a cable dozer and a front control unit- the hardest thing to run. After that, they all seem sooooo easy. Start the pony motor with a rope, then spin over the Diesel with the pony. Nostagia- not

The log trucks around here haul 15-20 logs and some of them are almost full original length. When I was running the west coast back in the 80's, I remember seeing log trucks with 2 to 4 logs that were just pieces of the whole tree. Trees around here ain't big compared.
